Playable Side: Comoros
Date: 24 March 2008
Location: Comoros
Duration: 1 Day, 9 Hours

In 2008, Comoran forces, supported by the African Union with troop detachments, launched an assault on Anjouan, an island that is a constituent part of the Union of Comoros, but had been suffering from internal conflict ever since its first secession from the rest of Comoros in 1997 and subsequent readmission in 2002.

In violation of negotiated agreements with the central government, local strongman Bacar unilaterally held elections in June of 2007 that were widely considered to be rigged, eventually announcing the renewed secession of Anjouan from the Union. This paved the road for military intervention, codenamed Operation Democracy in Comoros.

---

This is my first scenario, which I was able to create due to the infinitely generous and patient help from the good guys over in the community Discord. It's nothing fancy - it depicts a small-scale military intervention a few years ago that has mostly been forgotten, but which I figured would make for a neat first scenario. Also it is a bit off the beaten track in terms of involved parties. There is some scripting in the scenario and there are probably some bugs, which is why I am throwing it out here to get some feedback and hopefully fix the scenario up for an eventual 1.0 release. Also general balancing feedback etc is more than welcome, I already made some adjustments based on the feedback I received thus far, and it should hopefully not be too difficult anymore at this point.

File has been uploaded on the first best filehosting I could find, as the scenario utilizes overlays and is just slightly too big to be attached directly.

Thanks for your feedback and glad you've enjoyed it, Jorm!

As for for 20mm, I felt the scenario was too easy if both boats were fully ready for combat, so I decided to make one slightly impaired, assuming lack of maintenance or ammunition. But it's a good point, I might add the mount but supply no or limited ammo for one of the boats to still allow the component to be damaged in combat.

Overlay files go into the "AttachmentRepo" folder and should load automatically upon scenario loadup if placed correctly.

Ahhh makes sense.

I did enjoy using the minimalist forces. It made me take more care with them and especially work a bit harder at recon.
