Balbo looks to destroy the remaining CW forces in Egypt and Palestine.

The Italians are doing quite well, no?

The remnants of the CW Army in Egypt are destroyed in a second automatic assault.

Il Duce proclaims an historic victory and the dawn of a second Roman Empire. Mare Nostrum.

A 2! But it doesn't matter. They can't rebuild this militia, and cut supply to this Soviet sector promises further gains.

Missed the screenshot for a blitz to the south of the Communist lines in China which resulted in the Lanchow Militia retreated north and a couple of disorganised Japanese militias.

The long mountain siege near Yenan is finally brought to an end.

I'd had a pint after work, invaded the wrong island, at considerable risk.

But it is in a nice spot.

I'll take the good die roll, in view of what happened next.

Yamashita takes further SNLF losses but gets ashore in India on the Bay of Bengal.

The Luftwaffe prioritises Western France and Rommel in the Caucasus for air rebases. The Italians also rebase their best fighters to the Loire.

End of impulse.

Well, if one must roll a 2 this is the attack on which to roll one.

Bound and determined to retake the Port of La Rochelle, American armor, supported by Infantry and Shore Bombardment launch an attack , German air does lend some support but the attack is a success, with Axis units shattered by a blitz attack.

AXIS #5 JULY/AUGUST 42

The Germans cannot allow this new British beach head to survive. They take a combined move and the High Seas Fleet emerges from Kiel. Japan and Italy take land actions.

The Americans in the North Sea intercept the Germans on a 1 and they sit in the 3 box.

A couple of Spitfire squadrons fly out from the SE of England to cover the 0 and 1 boxes.

Axis doesn't search but finds on the Allied search, 2 & 10.

They take the conservative option and destroy the CW cp with surface combat.

But just one round as both sides fail to reengage 5 & 7.

Graziani in Yugoslavia rails the Celere Mot to Calais. The Germans rail AT artillery from Novgorod to Nantes.

The Italians occupy Jerusalem and Haifa. But an Indian Mot has denied Calcutta to the Japanese, who reinforce Yamashita's beachhead in Bengal with an Engineer Division.

The German garrison in Rotterdam advances into Belgium to launch an attack.

German air support against the British beach head from their fleet in the North Sea fails to get through as obsolete RAF Defiant fighters acquit themselves well.

But the Axis has nothing that can prevent US Navy ground support to La Rochelle, which is attacked yet again.

La Rochelle changes hands for the 4th time in this battle, the fiercest of the war so far, and the 5th time since 1940.

Von Leeb's forces in Western France are nearly exhausted, but both sides avoid losses.

The Germans make use of their combined action to rebase planes. But this is easier in the east than the west.

The Luftwaffe has taken serious losses.

Destroyed so far July/August 1942.

In the next allied impulse The CW Naval High Command decide they have had enough of The German navy trailing their Flag so close to the British shore line, and order are issued to seek out this fleet and inflict mortal harm upon it!!!
There is a one turn battle after the Allies find on a 2 and the Axis roll a 7.
German losses are shown below.
