But clearly you spent a megaton MPP - 6 Panzerkorps is quite unusual (poor France) .

The problems are:

1. This is my very first crack with Germany (played Italy once)

2. Mark's with the Allies

3. Same rules as before, i.e., try, as best we can to work with the knowledge we think the leaders would have had at the time. In practical terms, I build and research U-Boats even if ineffective for the cost, and he Strategic Bombers

4. Nothing "ridiculous" (we still have our referee, though not needed last time)

5. Being our first try as these opponents we WILL make mistakes (our last game is proof of that)

6. I frankly have no idea what I am doing (more comfortable at defense)

Mark says he learned a bit from my play as Allies, but the only critical thing I learned was GET FRANCE! NOW! And I intend on doing so, hence the PanzerBlitz!

I love the game and the comments, and we'll pick up the pace!

Status: offline 		Well while researching strategic bombers is indeed waste of time and MPP, researching U boats is an absolute must (you will see how much you will depend on them) .
You don't know what you are doing ? You are crushing everything under the Panzers' tracks :)

The big difference is that where your friend used "only" 3 Pzkorps, you use SIX ! Hence an impression of an incandescent knife :)
You also started a hair earlier .

Status: offline 		FYI - my opponent (Mark) is out for a few days for a medical issue (yes, we are at that age), so no updates until next weekend, at best. Because, by mutual agreement, we cannot load the game unless we are both present, no inarticulate musings either. What I can say, however, is that (1) we were both surprised by the effect of low morale on the French troops (2) surprised by the overall impact of the Panzers (3) Mark said he saw the writing on the wall after the first major attack, and decided then and there to pull the BEF out of France before they were lost (he lost 1 Infantry Corps) (4) as per Mark, French airpower is a joke (5) again, as per Mark, there is no way to defend against a 6 Panzer attack on France and (6) lastly, and again as per Mark, a similar assault against Russia with more powerful Panzers and a few more of them is indefensible.

I'll see you guys in a week!

And neither of you should have been surprised by the power of the Panzers because they were as powerful in your previous game - it's just that your friend had much less of them .

That's why I wrote "Poor France" above :)
French army and air is a joke even against 3 Pz what is a more standard German setup so with 6 ....
Even saying walk in the park is an understatement !
