The japanese F-4EJ Phantom II KAI has regained the original air-to-ground capabilities of the F-4E over it's predecessor. Please add this.

Thank you

Any idea what the loadouts are. Pictures are great!

Thanks

Mike

New list of designation fixes and lots of suggestions according to the general DB naming scheme. Strong emphasize on Chinese stuff due to the recent release of Chains of War and to make the search for Chinese ship names less time consuming.

"Atlantic 1" could be shortened to "Atlantic" since "Atlantique 2" name only apply to the French platform, and was chosen by the French President of the Republic, François Mitterrand, to emphasize that it is a national program rather than a NATO program as was the Atlantic.

The USN is upgrading their Super Hornets to Block III. First are in service by 2019.

From: http://www.popularmechanics.com/military/aviation/a26833/us-navy-approves-boeings-f-1-8/
quote:

The U.S. Navy has decided to fund Boeing's fighter division to upgrade the service's F/A-18E and F/A-18F Super Hornets to the "Block III" configuration. The most recent budget request from the U.S. Navy allocates $264.9 million over the next five years to upgrade the Super Hornet fleet with more advanced avionics and sensor capabilities, according to Aviation Week. The first Block III Super Hornets are slated to enter service in 2019.

It would get the ASG-34 IRST and CFTs with 3500 lbs of fuel, in addition to the already present APG-79 and ALQ-214

From: http://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/defense/2017-04-05/boeing-pitches-super-hornet-block-iii-navy-league-event
quote:

The networking system upgrade, matched with the already approved Lockheed Martin AN/ASG-34 long-range infrared search and track (IRST) sensor pod and evolutions of the Raytheon APG-79 active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar and Harris AN/ALQ-214 integrated defensive electronic countermeasures (IDECM) self-protection system, prepare the Super Hornet for the future threat environment, Boeing contends. As with the Advanced Super Hornet, the Block III Super Hornet would come with shoulder-mounted conformal fuel tanks containing 3,500 gallons of fuel, increasing the fighter’s range by about 120 nm and/or time on station by about 20 to 30 minutes depending on its mission payload, Gillian said.

Also receiving network upgrades and a slight RCS reduction because of the CFTs
From: http://www.popularmechanics.com/military/aviation/a26833/us-navy-approves-boeings-f-1-8/
quote:

The new configuration will improve the heads-up display and computing capabilities of the Super Hornet, while also modestly upgrading the stealth and radar cross section. The multirole fighter will receive "advanced network architecture" in the form of a new computer called the Distributed Targeting Processor Network (DTPN). A large new display in the cockpit will help pilots monitor the additional information they receive. New Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT) will also improve the Super Hornet's information pipeline so more data can be transmitted to and from the jet.

Actually, the original is more correct. The J-16s are based on the UBK tandem trainer airframe and not the Su-30MKK. You can see that from the canted end of their vertical rudders that distinguishes them from the Su-30 line. The J-16s are basically tandem trainer Flankers with added IFR and multi-role radars capable of launching air-to-ground guided munitions.

If anything, the text in the bracket should be something about [Multirole-ized Su-27UBK copy with added IFR capability]

Ah yes, and they also added the additional wing-mounted hardpoint of the Su-30.

New loadout for the F/A-18F. 10x GBU-32, 2 AIM-9, ATFLIR, Drop Tank, and presumably an AMRAAM on the cheek.

Let's see the Kuznetsov do this...

I guess the above post needs to add 10xMk83 and 10xMk82 capability as well.

Although it is a F-18a-d, not a super hornet, this photo implies that F-18 can also do away with the center drop tank and have another dual-rack of bombs (looks like Mk82s to me, but 2x 1000 pounders would technically work). http://www.adf-gallery.com.au/gallery/albums/Hornet-A21-44/20060522raaf8160650_0053_lo.jpg

Reminds me of that 10xAMRAAM and 2xAIM-9 loadout photo - if it "can" be done, why not have it as a loadout?

You can see that from the canted end of their vertical rudders that distinguishes them from the Su-30 line. The J-16s are basically tandem trainer Flankers with added IFR and multi-role radars capable of launching air-to-ground guided munitions.

If anything, the text in the bracket should be something about [Multirole-ized Su-27UBK copy with added IFR capability]

Ah yes, and they also added the additional wing-mounted hardpoint of the Su-30.

I stand corrected then. I based my suggestion on this: https://sinodefence.com/2014/02/15/pla-flanker-fighter-family/#prettyPhoto

It's very easy to confuse J-16 as either Su-27 or Su-30 copy because it had both of their appearances in half, The canted tail tips from 27, and dual wheel front gear from 30. J-11BS has single front and not fully runs with WS-10 engines, but still can be confused as J-16 somehow.

I guess it's not totally copy all the features from Su-30 to reduce the tooling cost, and maximize the part interchangeability from J-11 family.

Remember what USAF General was 'scared' about? That wondermissile is mounted by J-16. See the iconic Su-27 tail tips.

Same as the J-16D, slightly blurry but you can't miss the SU-27 tail and SU-30 front gear:

And this is the older, single wheel front gear of Su-27UBK copy, J-11BS. It's by far the most likely used with WS-10 engines compare to single-seat J-11B:

[FIXED DB v468]

All "Type 214" subs in the game have a nonmagnetic hull property.

However, it contradicts wiki statement:

"The Type 214 submarine is derived from the Type 212, but as an export variant it lacks some of the classified technologies of its smaller predecessor, the most important of which is probably the non-magnetic steel hull, which makes the Type 212 submarine difficult to detect using a magnetic anomaly detector"

So, i have a couple potential DB issues to go with the bug that was already fixed about AK-630s not firing properly:

1) Burst sizes in general might be too high for CIWS. FAS cites the Phalanx as doing bursts of 60 rounds, 100 rounds, or continious fire, not the 200 or 300 rounds currently cited for it. Similiarly, the Goalkeeper is credited with being able to track and prioritize 16 targets at once, but with its current DB stats can only fire once every 4 seconds, only up to five bursts, and even subsonic sea-skimmers will hit before it can fire more than 3 times, at best. Is it actually standard practice for CIWSs to spend so much time and 20% of the magazine firing at a single target?

2)Russian AK-630s are particularly badly treated, as they for whatever reason seem to have a ROF of 8 seconds in order to fire a big 400 round burst at a single missile, and they also only have 5 bursts stored in the turret. I can't imagine that standard usage for them calls for a single Harpoon or we might be approaching at sea level to receive 400 rounds over so long a time and thus leaving the entire rest of a salvo that might get past SAMs to approach unmolested. The twin-gatling version of the 630 takes this up to spending 800 rounds on a single target for 8 seconds, which seems somewhat absurd to me.

3)AK-630s, BTW, seem to be credited with being a fully automatic system along the same lines as Phalanx/Goalkeeper/The Rest. It seems like they should have the Operates Autonoumsly flag like other CIWSs.

[FIXED DB v468]

I noticed that Fake Targets in both DBs have a maximum depth of 200m. Could this limit possibly be removed to allow them to be utilized to represent wrecks and so on?

  • #???? - Mirage 2000C -- France (Air Force), 2015-0, Barkhane mod GBU

Since summer 2015, in the waiting of Rafale deliveries and to supplement overstretched Mirage 2000D fleet (operating over both Sahel and Irak), the AdA is using its surviving 2000C, from squadron E02/005 "Île-de-France", in Strike/CAS role over the Sahel region. Paired with a 2000D, it carries 4 GBU or LDGP bombs. It also offers more options thanks to its gun, which the 2000D doesn't have.

With modifications suggested above applied, please duplicate #1628 - Mirage 2000C -- France (Air Force), 1997, and :

    Sensors:
    - add #2241 - AN/AVS-9 Night Vision Goggles

Please create a "Strike, Land/Naval" loadout, that Requires Buddy Illumination, with :
    - 2* #242 - R.550 Magic 2 Mk2 -- 1997 (optional)

  • #3930 - Mirage 2000N K2 -- France (Air Force), 1989

While operating within a coalition, AdA also uses Mk82 bombs. As over Bosnia for example, here in 1995 :

    Stores:
    - add #1814 - Mk82 500lb LDGP - 1954

    Loadouts:
    - please duplicate #19741 loadout and replace its #242 - R.550 Magic 2 Mk2 -- 1997 by #1878 - R.550 Magic 2 Mk1 -- 1986.

I assume that Mk82 were also available in 1997, thus I do suggest that loadout #19741 is added to platform #3930 - Mirage 2000N K2 -- France (Air Force), 1989's loadouts and #1814 - Mk82 500lb LDGP - 1954 is added to its stores.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • #175 - Mirage 2000-5 -- Taiwan (Air Force), 1999

It looks like Astac ESM pod is used on Taiwanese Mirage too.

    Stores:
    - add #1031 - ASTAC Pod [ESM]

    Loadouts:
Please create an "Unarmed Recon" loadout with :
    - 2* #242 - R.550 Magic 2 Mk2 -- 1997 (optional)
    - 1* #1031 - ASTAC Pod [ESM]
    - 2* #1533 - 1700 liter Drop Tank

    Thank you.

A few updates on Rafale loadouts:
    * #4360 Rafale C and #4361 Rafale B (the Qatari Rafale) should have a Lockheed Martin Sniper pod (weapon #459) instead of the Talios LDP.
    * India should have 36 Rafale F3R (unknown split between single and dual seat), with a Rafael Litening pod (Litening 5, could be modelled by weapon #3028 Litening 4) instead of the Talios LDP, and Spice 250 glide bombs instead of the AASM missiles.
    * Spice 250 weapon should be added to the database. It's a glide bomb with a 54 nm range, an Imaging Infrared seeker + GPS/INS, a two-way datalink for retargeting. It can be 4-packed into a weapon station, giving a sample Rafale loadout of 2x4 Spice, 3 2000L external tanks, 1 LDP, 2 MICA EM and 2 MICA IR. You could also have short-range loadouts with 4x4 Spice 250.

There have been more info regarding delivery dates in recent days:

    1. AIM-9X Block II - Raytheon Lot 17 awarded June 14th 2017, to be completed before March 2020:
    https://www.defense.gov/News/Contracts/Contract-View/Article/1214494/

    2. JAASM-ER - Lockheed Lot 15 awarded June 1st 2017, to be completed before August 2020:
    https://www.defense.gov/News/Contracts/Contract-View/Article/1200150/

    3. AIM-120 C7 - there is still no firm date of delivery

however, given above, I suggest to add loadouts including three mentioned weapons with IOC 2019-2020

    #403 - Type 041 Yuan (2006) ---> (2008)

The first AIP-installed submarine is used for 10 years since the recent official report in CCTV, so it should be commissioned around 2007, and combat effective in a year later (based on CMANO's +1 from commission year).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBV33iLe1Qg (Simplified Chinese, it's about a particular 039A crew with experience to operate and provide maintenance to the AIP system.)

  • #4013 - Embraer KC-390 -- Brazil (Air Force), 2018

    - Name : Only the commercial platforms have the long "Embraer", I would suggest to drop it for the KC-390. ("#2937 C-2" doesn't have Kawasaki in its name eg.)

    General Data :
    - Length : 35,91 m
    - Height : 11,84 m
    - Agility : I would suggest to set it on par with comparable aircrafts, to 1 (instead 0,5). I might be nitpicking here.

    Sensors :
    - its radar is a Selex Galileo Gabbiano T-20 Radar
    http://www.leonardocompany.com/en/-/gabbiano-brazil
    http://kc-390.com/performance-spec-certification.html

"The KC-390 Self-Protection System combines a broad range of Detection & Declaration devices (Radar Warning, Laser Warning and Missile Approach Warning) to capable Countermeasures (Chaff and Flare and DIRCM); enhancing the aircraft security in threatening scenarios."
    - No specs for now though.
    http://kc-390.com/state-of-art.html

    Stores and Loadouts:
    - Its max cargo load is 26 tons, I thus suggest to add "#2646 Cargo [Air Drop, 25 tons]" (which weights 26000 Kg btw) to its stores and to add an adapted loadout (range is said to be 1140 nm).
    - Cargo 23 tons : Range is said to be 1520 nm.
    - It can airdrop cargo too : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzJrkofb0pk
I thus suggest to add "#2620 Cargo [Air Drop, 10 tons]" to its stores and an adapted loadout.
    - It's also a Tanker :

I thus suggest to add "#1891 Buddy Store" to its stores and loadout to put it in use, with a pair of Buddy stores.
It carries 16 tons (estimated) of fuel in its cargo, which would be used in a refuel mission. I thus suggest to add, for example, "#2593 900 liter Ferry Tank" to its stores and add 15 of it to its Air Refueling loadout, and to its Ferry loadout.

    http://www.cobham.com/mission-systems/air-to-air-refuelling/hose-and-drogue-systems/wing-air-refuelling-pods/kc-390-datasheet/docview/

    * It could carry a Rafael Litening II pod for SAR missions, I found no evidence it's actually operational though.

    Properties :
    - add #6003 Fly-by-Wire http://kc-390.com/state-of-art.html
    - add #8001 Probe Refuelling

    http://www.cobham.com/the-group/news/cobham-aar-products-aboard-embraer-kc-390/

    Propulsion :
    - Engines are V2531-E5, with a Thrust of and and SFC of .
    Loiter speed is 120 knots
    http://kc-390.com/media-center-brochures.html

    Fuel :
23900 Kg (with a Ferry tank it becomes 37200 Kg). May need to adapt its SFC?

    Supreme 2.0 mentioned it before.

Could the Sea Gripen/Gripen M be added as a hypothetical unit? Saab are officially looking into the concept with an eye to sell to India, Thailand (and Brazil, but it seems they're scrapping that carrier). It's apparently going to be a navalised version of the NG.

Apologies for not posting a link, I'm not permitted to so just yet apparently. A quick google of Sea Gripen should provide several articles, however.

    #1033 - Typhoon FGR.4

The Litening III Pod will be replaced with the Litening V pod as part of the P2E upgrade phase.

Litening V now includes three cameras: Medium Wave IR (FLIR), Short Wave IR (SWIR) and a large aperture colour CCD to enable the system to detect targets at "very long ranges".

Laser systems include a laser illuminator which extends observation range of the SWIR, as well as a Laser Range Finder / Target Designator.

Software updates allow the three cameras to utilise sensor fusion, the addition of an Air-to-air targeting mode, together with visual geolocation and datalinks.

Miniaturisation has freed up two "spaces" for "classified" equipment.

It is speculated that the upgrade to the Litening V pod is the reason why the long range RAPTOR reconnaissance pod from the Tornado GR4 has not been modified/transferred to the Typhoon under Project Centurion.
