I love hitting xAKs with SS when they are fuel-laden. They burn up REAL good that way-almost always ensuring that a single TT shot is fatal.

Hmm. Seems a rather expensive use of armor. Maybe in a future version Chinese Partisan units could be used?

These 'token' units left behind might now become expensive. The US 32nd ID is stationed at this crossroads NW of Amoy. Four units (TK Reg, 2 ID, and an Art Reg) move cross country and cut it off from Amoy as an ID and 3 Art Reg move into its hex. Close on their heels is 3rd TK DIV and another ID. Could we get lucky and TRAP an entire American ID? Tune in sports fans...

Over in Indochina the Allies are pulling away from Haiphong as the reinforced Japanese drive north up the coast towards Hanoi and prepare to breakout of Haiphong with the aid of Ise's 14" guns.

OBSERVATION: Amoy is held by a lone TK unit. If we can take it AND hold it, the Allied lodgement would be split in half.

Status: offline 		The move through Allied lines has completely worked as all three tanker TFs of TK-6 are now approaching Guam. Lost two TK yesterday to a pair of Allied SS. Plan to aid the ASW by having ordered from Tokyo four days ago 18 E-Class ASW ships. Will divide the 3 TK TFs into 5 with an extremely STOUT ASW Screen. We are about 7 days from home with TK-6. FANTASTIC!

During this action there has been other things happening under the cover of the Japanese CVs:

1. I lifted a Japanese IJA Brigade and SNLF Assault Brigade from Jolo and the Isles nearby. Nearly as important was the lifting of 22,000 supplies from those two bases.
2. Ran three TK TFs of small Tankers into Tarakan and loaded ALL its fuel and oil to haul down to Soerabaja. This totalled 35,000 Fuel and 9,000 Oil. haven't been able to get up there due to marauding Allied Tfs for nearly three months.
3. Two TK/AOs TFs that were empty ran from east to west while the fully laden TFs came out. These two empty TFs will form the core of TK-7 and load up to about 200,000 Fuel/Oil to try and bring out.

This plan has succeeded due to Allied indifference but the ramification of not doing anything will be felt the moment those fully laden TK/AOs get home.

I'll give a weak BANZAI! for that moment...

Aye. Dan has never shirked from expending quality troops in a seemingly frivolous manner or letting them be butchered piecemeal.

We won the ATA day with a score of 32--68 planes. I'll take that.


Only one bomber lived to tell about what happened over Darwin.

Here is the ground side of things. The PINK circles are bases I have recaptured over the last 10 days. All that matters is that we are inflicting casualties upon all forms of Allied units. These are not BIG casualties (though we did inflict nearly 4,000 when the Allies were forced to retreat from Haiphong) but they help against the coming VP haul in Formosa.

To say anything regarding Formosa is to stir up all sorts of OLD topics on this thread. Lets us simply say that each base where the enemy prepares to attack is hit by 300-400 bombers for 2-3 days before the inevitable attack comes. Most recent example is at Taichu we sat behind Sz-5 Forts, had some supply, and over 1,000 AV. We get 3 days of bombing (you KNOW that they weren't 2EB! ) with 1-2 turns of shore bombardment and what happens? The first attack is--GET THIS--25-1 and we lose the hex. Against Lvl 5 Forts and 100% prep...

As said before, all these losses that are about to occur in Formosa will be bought back out for Home Defense and, in that regard, Dan is doing me a HUGE favor by attacking here. Instead of never gaining use of these troops behind the lines, I will get these units back. The little victories in Indochina, Australia, and elsewhere help to somewhat off-set the soon to be destruction of an entire Field Army of Japan.

Status: offline 		Not to be a bigger pain in the arse than I am, you should really use the W key so all your readers can understand the hexside control.

I guess Vietnam has a fair bit of supply there that is allowing you to counterattack? It is nice to see Japan claiming some bases in late 44...I never could do it.

Status: offline 		I have been slowing picking up units across the DEI, Sumatra, Celebes, Borneo and usually grab some excess supply wherever that is and then dropped it off at CRB, Haiphong, or Saigon. This is helping to keep things moving.

Operation Aurora

It has been a long time since I named an impending Operation. Well...time to do so.

Sitting up north is a plethora of LCU that need to be thrown into the fight to the south. To grab them, we'll have to establish local air and sea superiority. This about to happen in about 10 days.

Units:
1. Two Carrier Divisions of the Kido Butai carrying 600 planes.
2. Two powerful Surface units including 3 BC, 4 CA, and escort ships.
3. Five Sentai/Daitai(200+ Fighters) from the Home Islands to buttress Fighter Cover.
4. 100+ AK/APs and Escorts.

Units to be lifted out:
Infantry Divisions: 7th, 14th, and 38th.
Other Units: Two Air Flotilla and 3 large Base Forces.

Should note that the units lefted out will get a single Regiment or Brigade put down in their place. We need the troops but we also don't want to GIVE the Western Aleutians away either. In fact, I hope to lure Dan into an attack up here THINKING I just took all the combat firepower OUT. Sneaky Japanese thinking I hope...

As always we seek to nail any Allied shipping that might be available. There is a long-standing TF of several CL and a few DDs at Adak. We'll seek to kill that...

FUEL you ask? Brought it with me. Currently am refueling the CVs at Saipan and have eight AOs carrying 60,000 Fuel to keep everyone moving. We'll lift, retire, and the Fleet will head for Saipan.

At Saipan they will meet-up with the empty AOs and TKs that are about to unload in Japan and escort them back to the DEI where we'll try to organize another huge Tanker Mission. The Fleet will be able to refuel in the DEI and so will their precious AOs.

Status: offline 		Should note that nearly 100 AKs entered the Truk anchorage yesterday. They then break up into TFs of 10-15 ships and depart to pick-up more support and Infantry units in far-flung areas that don't mean anything presently.

New day--same story. Gadzillions of Allied bombers attack the troops at Takao. Forts are at 5 but they don't stop the pain as over 2,000 troops are taken out...
