I hate to sound simple here, but what do the 4 symbols actually mean? A factory, anchor, oil drop (supply) and two crossed picks?

Did you mouse over the symbols?

Capitals/Cities/Towns, Ports, Oil, and Resources (AKA Mines)

Each point of these produces varying amounts of MMPs for you to do Research, build units, etc.

Thanks! No, my mouse will give numbers but no explanation. If I have

Manufacturing (Cities, etc.) = 57
Ports = 48
Oil = 6
Mining = 14

what does this mean? Is it just numbers to compare relative to your opponent (if so, a bit of a fog of war problem)? If the answer is too long, can someone point to where in the manual this is explained, or another thread.

No you can mouse over the symbols themselves at the bottom of the graph. Not the graph itself.

The numbers mean just want they say. You have 57 map locations of Capitals, Cities, and towns. You have 48 ports. You have 6 oil locations (the ones with the barrel symbols), and 14 locations with the Mining symbol (the crossed picks).

More of all of these are better than less

As you will get more MMP due to having more of them.
