Is there any way to view the end of turn messages?
I'd like to verify that I did indeed see what I thought I saw!

I am sure I got a research breakthrough message for Infantry Weapons level 2 but am still at 33%, which means I shouldn't have had a breakthrough yet, as it only becomes possible at 35% or above.

Can an early breakthrough advance your research bar in that tech?

On the same turn you can view the end of turn messages again by pressing the L hotkey on your keyboard. If a breakthrough has been achieved, the level should advance to the next level and the advance/progress bar should reset back to 0%.

No luck, I got no messages.
I must have moved a couple of units before saving.

I had to scrap that game anyway, I was messing about with scripts and had deselected the USSR DoWs Germany and Italy scripts.
I found out later that USSR joins the Allies but can't be attacked.
They are missing from the Diplomacy screen altogether.
