Great scenario. A perfect mix of assets (air, surface, subs) with a endurance/distance problem and a highly strategic choice of route.
I ended with "Triumph" at 10,450 pts with 2 days, 1 hour left to go.
I created 2 groups of 2 Burke's and led the way north with them, carriers to follow. I did the same with the LCS', but led them east between the islands, hoping their speed would blow by any waiting sub traps (I was right). I ended up supporting my assault on the 3 Chinese man-made islands with AB's and CVN's from the south, and my LCS' threatening from the Sulu Sea to the east.
The tanker and P-8 work was intense, especially after the air threat was done.
Lost the Virginia class by getting lazy on some sprint/drift maneuvers. I left him drifting too long without turning, and it appears I walked into a trap (they heard me coming from the sprint). This was my first loss, and it really hurt.
I lost the 2 F/A-18F's when I got cocky on a strike mission - shot down by SAM's near Mischeif island.
The F/A-18E was lost due to fuel starvation I believe, and I'm still not sure exactly what happened there as I thought I had a solid tanker plan, and didn't seem to have any other close calls.
I'd like to try again, shooting for zero losses, but man it was a long scenario, taking me multiple days.
And how did they ever come up with the call-signs for the RQ-180's? :) Very effective assets, and clever. I ended up positioning my AEW out about ~300 nm from the task force, with the RQ-180 about an extra 150 miles beyond the AEW's radar range, providing a "very early warning", giving me plenty of time o launch interceptors onte he Badgers inbound on the ships. I don't think the Badgers ever got off a missile.
