Hi all!

We are releasing a hotfix for Pole Positions, fixing two issues as you can read in the changelog below. You can download the patch from the Members' Area or directly from here.

Changelog:
1. Moved a Cluster lance site so it is further from the ice pack
2. Made the scenario start event active, it was somehow deactivated."

I was about to say "yes" because there's a new "whatsnew.pdf" in my main folder with the 1.12.6 details and a freshly-updated Pole Positions scenario, but the scenario start event was still inactive. Deleting and replacing the Pole Positions scenario through Steam did not give me a scenario with the scenario start event active.

Could someone with the Matrix version of Pole Positions check to see if the scenario start event is active after applying the patch?

same here. Also using the steam version. But the scenario Start Event is not active.

Just checking here guys but the event will fire and then de-activate.

Did the event fire on startup?

I simply opened it up in ScenEdit mode, checked the events list, and it was inactive. Will check to see if it fires when started normally.

Edit - "Event: 'Scenario Start' has been fired." Would seem to be good for Steam users.

Yes. The only files that were updated (at least on the Steam side) were the scenario file and the "what's new" file. The main executable was not updated.

One sure fire way to check - in the editor

Start the game as the US
Change sides to Russia
Check to see if the subs on the Russian side have a mission
If they do - it fired, if they don't there might be a problem

If you do the same but start on with the Russian side and flip to the US side you can check the same way but there are three
US subs which do not have a mission so you need to look around a bit.

After installing this hot fix the info in the title bar of the game shows "V1.12 Build 936.21". Is this correct? The installation process ran as it usually does and said the it was completed but I expected to see V1.12.6 in the title bar.

That is correct. What the hot fix changed was the Pole Positions scenario file, not the main executable. That is still the same Build 936.21 that was released with the first version of Pole Positions.

As an aside, the Steam version hasn't included the second ".X" in quite a while.

I'm using Steam. What is the date on the Pole Position.scen file after the update?

Mine shows 7/27/2017.

The "date modified" should be no earlier than 8/3. I don't know about earlier versions of Windows, but Windows 10 changes both the "date created" and "date modified" to when Steam downloaded the update.

To be sure you have the current version of all the files, in your library, right-click the main CMANO game, select "Properties", and under the "Local Files" tab, click on "Verify Integrity of Game Files...". If you don't have the current version of any file, it will re-download and install them for you.

Hmmm. I did the "Verify Integrity..." bit, and it found the need to download some files, but my Pole Position files still show 7/27/2017 as before.

(I'm using Win 10 with the latest updates.)

What's interesting is that the Scenarios\LIVE folder shows an update date of 8/3/2017 (as it did before I verified integrity and downloaded anything new) even though no individual files inside are later than 7/27. (Hidden Items are shown.)

In that case, check the log to see if "Scenario Start" fires within 1 second of game start.

I'm rather confident you do have the current scenario.

Is Mission Doctrine / RoE of WCS sub-surface Weapons FREE on both sides really by design? Seems strange based on the setting, but, I am still learning . . .

Russian briefing is wrong with regards to preparation/activation times:

All... I know this is slightly offtopic. But how are you to properly utilize the Echo Voyager? I've tried a direct attack, created missions using the respective RP's, passed over the Cluster Lance, but it never seems to begin its task of sabotage. Whats the proper execution?

You need to move the Echo Voyager inside the 4 RPs and have it stop inside them. After 2 hours you will get a message telling you that the Echo Voyager has disabled the system and you can move on.

This is supposed to simulate the mechanical arms cutting cables and generally ripping the thing apart.
