Getting this issue whenever the Diplomacy display is brought up in the Allied turn:

FAILED(diplomacy_dialog: draw_highlight_flag): Segmentation violation

This does not happen in the Axis turn at all. I have reinstalled the game, removed localisations, recompiled the game file and assigned all Allied majors Axis Major bitmaps. Nothing seems to work. Either this is an insidious configuration snafu or some kind of weird bug. There is a whole sting of messages on this in the "Calm Before The Storm" mod group.

Any thoughts or insight into what could be causing this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Will

PS Additional details...When the Diplomacy dialog box comes up it is blank. If I click on close the error will appear and the game crashes after I acknowledge it. If I click on any of the blank spots the same thing happens. If I click on the "Declare War" war button, the message "the UK is already on your side" appears, I click "ok" and the error appears, I click "ok" again and the game crashes.

There is a chance then that the mod has a file that is no longer compatible with what the game is expecting. Some files have changed since the original release and if the mod has also changed some graphics files but these files no longer match the size of the current defaults I can see it causing this type of crash.

In this case I would check the mod, or ask the author to check the mod and compare any of the custom graphics files against the defaults and ensure the same pixel width and height per file. In this case it is probably one of the "highlight" files or the files that contain national flags etc.

Hope this helps,
Hubert

Thanks Hubert! I've already tried removing the custom interface and bitmaps via the localization ini file. Examining the size and content of these files was my next step and your response in the light at the end of the tunnel. I probably won't be able to do so for a while though. Currently I am on vacation in Canada and my security software is having a fit. Apparently, it thinks I've hacked my own laptop!
