Yes I've seen it a few times it really depends on how much you are steam rolling the USSR AI I think

Do you interdict the US transports to England? This has an impact on timing due to lack of units. Otherwise they do seem to launch it in 1943 as the UK is getting too crowded.

Intercepting the transports is not the reason, I've rarely intercepted a single unit that way.

Just to be clear I'm referring to normal transports from the US to England and not amphibious transports to actually invade. If there are no US troops to land then you won't see any Overlord in 1944 or even 1945. I'm found that the AI launches Overlord when it has enough troops to do it. The US has the higher amphibious tech level over the UK and the AI seems to want a large landing. With a normal US entry it takes most of 1942 to build up the units and ship them to the UK. Now if you intercept some of them that means the US has to rebuild the units and the invasion is delayed. I have not seen how this is tied to progress in the east. For me against the AI it was much more related to how the fight in the Atlantic went.

For example in some games I played the sub game of just going against MPP's. The US invasion happens in 1943. In other games I try to destroy the UK fleet and set up a picket to sink most if not all the transports. The invasion happens much later and if I get most of the transports it sometimes never happens. I push the Russians back and then invade UK in late 1945 after finally doing German amphibious tech research.

I had them (the AI) landing in force in mid 1943 before.
