It is still Feb 11, 1942

The Bear is mighty.

All elements of the 1st and 2nd Tank Divisions are heading for the Soviets. They will be able to form up into a division in 135 days or so.

Kinugasa & Company bombard Toyohara...destroy 3 or 4 fighters on the ground. Nobody flying, so Oscar Sweep meets no resistance.

I suppose you thought of this but if the rail line on Sakhalin falls the 1 million resources at Toyahara may start migrating automatically toward the light industry on the Soviet side?.

Hey, there is really good terrain just a little to the north to fight at. As long as they are fighting I will be ok. And they will have better tanks by then too. Type 1 Medium Tank...no slouch right now.

P-38 on one side, and Mig 3 on the other. Not a lot of fun.

The P-50s outperform the P-38s.

They may be playing a newer version of this scenario that reduces the number of P-50s.
I played an early version and they were dominant.

Us starts with a couple or so restricted P38 Squadrons in the West Coast. By selectively upgrading/downgrading/withdrawing other groups aircraft, you can "upgrade" the restricted P38 squadrons and thus put those P38's into the pool, to be used by unrestricted groups.

Feb 13th, 1942

Soviet night bombing comes in endless waves at Harbin. Very effective at starting fires despite many AA units here.

The Aleutians!

I guess Soviets wanted to escape with some dinky ships in the lower task force, and the two nice cargo ships were a little further north.

At this point, I will take anything I can get!

This is supposedly a horrible place for Japan to fight in 42 and 43...but in this game I have to make it an extremely high priority.

Too many nasty synergies between the Soviets and the Americans if they should grab some bases in close proximity.

Forecast blizzard!

Djambi is taking it on the chin. During the daytime.

On the good news front, only 14 oil facilities were damaged. That is 14,000 supply!

Harbin lost 16 resources and 7 light industry damaged at night. Despite nasty fires so far none destroyed.

Karafuto Mixed Brigade surrenders today.

Look at the border fort losses. Pity.

2 days for 5 Naval Guards units to arrive....a good thing. 300 AV on unrestricted troopers.

Turn is a away, and I will try to put a hurt on the Lightnings, I have stuffed Djambi with my last 3 Tojo's, Zeroes and Oscar 1cs and in a break, I have them flying higher than the sweeping Lightnings and I am not using low layered CAP.

Low Layered CAP isn't that great without radar, and I only have sound detectors.

Hoping for a surprise.

The Toyohara counter invasion is gather forces, arriving today will be a battleship. Toyohara is being bombarded daily by the Kinugasa and soon more.

TF Shokaku revealed themselves in the Aleutians, so I hope to only have to worry about the Soviet Air Force and Navy (subs).

Hi Hans, they're not playing Focus Pacific.

What????? How could the Russkies be active at the start if it isn't FP?

I believe what happened is that Lowpe accidentally unloaded supplies -- not troops, but supplies -- someplace in Kamchatka. The Russians were offended. Hence, the "accidental" war.
