He and I started a game with my brother and ltfighter on 9/14/2004...yes, that is 2004. He and I have continued our games in some fashion or another since that time. Took just shy of 13 years to finally meet him!

Flew to Chicago on business and met up with him. Had a few drinks and shared some war stories! Didn't have nearly enough time to remember all the good turns and bad turns that have happened over the years, but it was fun.

Just goes to show...RL can be stranger than... wait...no, nevermind...that's for another thread.

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=710803 - The thread that started it all!

The closest I ever came to meeting a Forumite was when Chickenboy had a business trip to Atlanta about six years ago. He graciously got in touch with me to see if I could meet him in the Big A for dinner or some-such. I have been brought up to fear internet relationships, however, so I had to beg off. For all I knew (according to my mother), Chickenboy might be a Chilean prostitute posing as crsutton.

Ha! We didn't worry too much about it...after all, its Chicago, taking your life in your own hands going there anyway!

Most of the old guys on this forum are well past being kids now...especially if they were playing in 2004.

Balding and grey hair...would bet that describes most of us who played Pac War, UV, WitP, or even AE.

C'mon, you Southern dandy, haven't you met John III before? Also, the invitation was for an Atlanta Braves baseball game, you Luddite. I would have been on my best behavior too. Or my name isn't Senor Suttono.

I don't mean to hijack completely, but just so that I don't leave Miss Zeppelin hanging: Many years ago, crsutton began a thread, "So, I was talking to a Chilean prostitute." He wasn't serious but it became legendary.

Gorns typically eat their opponents whenever they meet. We don't bother with such niceties as cooking them first.

Look, I don't want to speak ill of a fellow forumite, but well... let's just say that you are one lucky boy and you should thank your mother for her wise council. I mean don't get me wrong, I've never met Chickenboy myself, but I know those who have and.....

Just sayin'......

CR is selling it short. Don't recall the whole sentence and context but if you ever find it in a search it will be worthwhile. It had to do with discussing philosophy or some such with a Chilean prostitute.

Yes, but you didn't pay the extra. I told you, if you wanted me to keep schtum then you had to pay $5k. And if you don't want me telling forumites about you, the celery and the egg-whisk, then you had better be ready to cough up double.
