A few days ago the CIA released a bunch of historical docs, including clandestine reporting, on the Soviet Navy. Great resource if you're building a historical scenario!

These are great reads. My main issue with using historical western intelligence information for any type of cold war wargaming is how wrong they were a lot of times. They seemed to either completely dismiss Soviet capabilities or made them into extremely over-hyped threats. It is always double interesting to read these and then read some of the stuff that comes out from Russian archives.
