After 35 years of drought go Tiges... I don't expect our non Australian fellows to understand.

Just like Yahoo Serious and vegemite, I don't. Sorry mate.

I'll take a flyer here. Were you by chance relating to the LSU Tigers of NCAA College Football acclaim? Their season has been pretty good thus far. Here's wishing them luck to reinforce the good wishes from Down Under.

Zap Today is the Australian Football League Grand Final. US Rosebowl equivalent. This game of the year for the premier side of the national football competition. To the disgust of many, 3 years ago the State Government created a Public Holiday on the preceding Friday, for the Grand Final Parade. The biggest sporting event on the Australian Sports calendar, expect maybe for the Melbourne Cup.
Richmond and Adelaide are the two contenders. The most amazing fact of this years teams is Adelaide hasn't played in a Grand Final for 20 years and Richmond 37 years. For the first time in the history of the game none of 44 players have played in a Grand Final ( except for first ever GF 1890 something). The game is what fairy tales are made of. Especially Richmond who finished 13th in an 18 side competition last year. Also rans, and to most including their supporters little chance of making the finals, and to make the GF "mission impossible", to put it simple, for a few crazy people who placed bets on Richmond winning the 2017 GF, they stand to make a lot of money.

It promises to be a good one, in front of more than 95,000 in Melbourne. Culturally, this is a very important event in Australia. It's broadcast internationally, so if you like big sporting events, it's worth checking out. It's usually uncompromising and very tough.

Also, the Rugby League grand final is on tomorrow night, so yet again, it could be another weekend, where too much sport...is barely enough. Thanks to Roy and HG for that one

Cheers, Neilster

And a side note the "yellow and Black bit" is words from the team song. 3 most stirring words ever heard in a club theme song. Of course I'm a little bias. If Richmond win today anyone get to witness the crowd sing it you'll understand what I am saying.

Well as a fan of another under-achieving club, whilst I don't understand the sport, I do fully understand the passion. I hope you get the result you want!

Yeah Warspite 37 years of under achieving now corrected. I really thought at the age of 64 I would never see my footy team win another premiership.

Perhaps you can similarly wish for my pile of crap - er I mean beloved football club - to end their 56 years of under achieving?

Well....the Richmond Tigers won, and won convincingly. The normally completely professional and skilled Adelaide were hopeless. No doubt the venue/umpiring/meteorological conditions/alignment of the planets etc etc were against them. It'll give South Australian people something to whinge about for the next 20 years. They love nothing better

Cheers, Neilster

South Australians are Tasmania boat people. Tasmanian still don't have a team in the national league, a pity though, many great players have come from that state. Richmond had many great Tasmanians in their team over the years. WS never give up it will happen. What football team do you support?
