Please add Facility SAM Grp with Stinger MANPADS to Finland.

Stingers have replaced Iglas (which have been phased out).

Greetings! I have some more corrections/additions for the Portuguese Armed Forces (in this particular post, the Portuguese Air Force). All requests have been sourced to the best of my abilities, but most of the sources are in Portuguese and some in Spanish, so I ask for the Dev's patience and indulgence!

Here we go:

Corrections:

China’s Type 055 DDG is visually confirmed there are 112 VLS units installed, with 64+48 setup.

But I still think the legacy version of “Type 055 Zhang He” should be exist hypothetically too, in tribute to the fictional debut from Ghost Fleet. For the authentic 055, it can use NATO code Renhai instead.

EDIT: thanks for someone pointed out the typo-critical to me.

quote:

The latest image (August 2017) suggested that a new variant of KD-20 (KD-20A?) has been developed. It features a new high-definition imaging radar (similar to that of DF-21C/D?) in the head section in place of DSMAC optical window which further improves its anti-jamming capability as well as its accuracy at night and in bad weather conditions.

Larger generic CATOBAR carrier in 80k range
- I hope to model the type 002 carrier

Thanks for considering

http://www.janes.com/article/69379/fmv-orders-new-anti-ship-missile-for-swedish-armed-forces

Gives a vague inservice date for the RBS 15F MK3 entries in the DB for Gripen NG and probably other Swedish things. Also gives us a Saab promo image that suggets that the current NG entry could maybe have a short-range loadout with 4 RB 15s instead of 2?

SCALP EG/Storm Shadow/Black Shaheen

this weapon has a Cruise Altitude in the DB of 300 ft/91 meters. This seems a bit odd to me given that its min launch altitude is 200 feet and its meant to be a quite stealthy cruise missile. Wiki also lists its flight altitude as 100-130 feet/30 meters, though i can't seem to find a source on that. Shouldn't it be at most be Tomahawk level 200 feet cruising alt?

This was reportedly over the Black Sea and dated August 2017 but on checking this is an old image circulated by the RuAF MoD in relation to this story.

It still is a relevant image though as previous released photos of Bort RED 27 showed Red dummy R-77-1's where as these are evidently operational all white R-77-1's?

The 2 x Kh-31's may be trials versions as I can't see the full markings but are the longer bodied Kh-31PD/AD versions.

The DB loads for the RuAF Su-30SM only have the Kh-31P.

If Wikipedia's sources are accurate all production of the Kh-31 moved to the later models in 2012.

For consideration for a long awaited update to the DB3K please?

Regards

K

Minor spelling correction

from the DB3000 build 467

#1677 RPK-7 Vodopei should be RPK-7 Veter
#1465 RPK-7 Vodopei should be RPK-7 Veter
#2218 RPK-6 Veder should be RPK-6 Vodopad

I have a link from Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RPK-6_Vodopad/RPK-7_Veter
but general idea is that Vodopei and Veder are incorrect Russian spelling.

Hello, I don't know if this has already been reported, in this case my apologies:

The Russian Naval Air Force Su-33s re being upgraded to SM standard. And they are also receiving new engines.

I know that in the new database we have a 2016 Gefest SVp-24 upgrade, which is the new targeting system, however all I see is the ability to carry unguided bombs, nowhere near the capabilities of a SM upgraded Su-27 (Su-33). An SM upgrade should bring the new updated sensors and guided missiles loadous as well.

- Su-33D (SM upgrade, 2017)
Engines: AL-31F series 3
Sensors: (as in Su-27SM)
1x Slot Back
1x OLS-27
1x L175V

Armament: as in SU-27SM

Sources: (I can't post links)

NAME CHANGE:
Russian PAK-FA T-50 should be renamed Su-57 ans the airplane finally received its official designation.

Finally, a humble request (I would do this myself but, unfortunately, we can't property edit aircrafts' sensors and weapons as with ships)

Russia (experimental-prototype) Mig-23-98, with full upgraded capabilities (no, not the Angolan 'lite' upgraded Mig-23-98-2)

Here a short resume (not mine) of the fully upgraded Mig-23-98.

The Mig-23-98 is a TRUE upgrade for MiG-23MLD. Whit the upgrade, the old Sapfir-23 radar is upgraded to be the Moskit-23, as well as the avionics. The Moskit-23 airborne radar is interfaced with the upto- date R-27R(T), RVV-AE and R-73 air-to-air missiles and allows the use of the R-23T and R-24T missiles, Kh-31A air-to-ship missiles, as well as the KAB-500Kr aerial guided bombs, unguided rockets, gun armament and unguided aerial bombs.
Equipping the aircraft with the Moskit-23 multifunction radar makes it possible to markedly enhance aircraft combat efficiency, first of all, due to:

- increasing the aerial target detection range up to 90 km and using the mapping mode to employ the Kh-31A antiship active-homing missiles (with an effective range of up to 100 km against sea targets) and the KAB-500Kr guided aerial bombs. Also the upgrade doesn't give the aircraft a new HUD. What they did is that they only upgrade the HUD it's self to display the upgraded radar on the screen. They also added the same Helmet - mounted sight from the MiG-29 for the R-73 Archer. Also Airframe life extension was offered as well. Other upgrade was to Angola had the upgrade of the Saphir radar fitted to their MiG-23MLs; this radar upgrade allows the Angolan MiG-23s to fire new types of air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons. This radar upgrade seems to be the same offered as part of the MiG-23-98-2 radar upgrade.

Mig-23-98 Russia, 2000 (hypo)
Sensors:
Radar: Moskit-23
IRST, laser RWR: ??? (Maybe OLS-K and SPO-15 like the Mig-29A? I an't find any proper info about that except this statement from MIG Aircraft corporation saying "The airborne avionics can be provided with helmet-mounted target designation system and up-to-date data display equipment including the head-up and multifunctional displays. The systems of navigation, communication, electronic counter measure, video recording, integrated system of monitoring, recording and processing of the flight data are subjected to upgrading."

Weapons:
1x23-mm cannon GSh-23L.
Warload-2.500 kg in hardpoints:
- 4 x R-77 or R-73
- 6 x R-60
- 2 x R-27R or R-27T
- 2 x Kh-31 or Kh-35 or Kh-29T
- 4 x FAB/OFAB/RBK bombs 100/250/500 (as with Mig-23MLD)
- unguided rockets

Loadouts:
A/A like Mig-23MLD but with the addiction of R-77 and R27 instead of R-24.
A/G like Mig-23MLD + 2 x Kh-31/Kh-35/Kh-29T/Kab-500L(?)

Image of the prototype and weapons: I can't post links

This might come off as an unusual request, but could I request an option for the Gripen E/F/NG with AMRAAM capability?

I'm asking because in an offsite Let's Play, the query of how to outfit 'our' Gripens came up and someone decided to go straight to the source for the possibility:

Would it be possible to get that added to the DB (perhaps as a hypothetical entry)? It would come in handy for anyone doing scenarios with potential Gripen operators that might favour AMRAAMs over Meteors.

Hello, I have request regarding the L-159:

1) Czech Air Force - L-159A - Aircraft Loadouts

- for "Ferry" please add 2x 500 liter Drop Tank and 2x 350 liter Drop tank (i.e. 4x drop tanks) as that is standard for long flights like the one to Spain for training

- for "CRV-7 70mm Rockets" please change "CRV-7 C-14 70mm Rocket" subtype to "CRV-7 C-15 70mm Rocket" which are in the game and which were actually bought by CzAF and please change number of carried rockets from 14x to 12x as rocket pod LAU-5002 is just for 6 rocket (these rocket pods were bought by air force; the LAU-5003 which can be seen sometimes was left from original testing but it is not used)

- for "CRV-7 70mm Rockets, Heavy" from same reason please change rocket to "C-15"and number to 24x representing 4x LAU-5002 rocket pods and delete 2x "500 liter Drop tank" as all 4 rocket pods needs to be carried on inner pylons and the outer pylons are just for Sidewinders

2) Czech Air Force - L-159T1

- please change year of introduction to 2008, the first four L-159T1 were created in 2007 and handed over to the air force at the end of this year, so 2008 is year when they were available

- also please change the loadouts as with L-159A

3) Iraqi L-159A

- please change the number of L-159A from 11x to 10x, Iraq has ordered 13x L-159A but from that 3 are for spare parts

- please add to Loadouts for "ferry" 2x 500 liter Drop Tank and x2 350 liter Frop tank

- plese add also loadouts with 4x Mk82 500lb LDGP and without any drop tanks, photo below

4) Iraqi L-159T1

- please add iraqi L-159T1, Iraq ordered two L-159T1, first one received already in 2015 but stayed in the Czech Republic for training pilots

Thank you.

There is a mistyping in records of Ka-27 series helicopters. In the DB empty weight is 6800 kg, but max weight is 1800 kg and max payload 12000 kg.
In fact empty weight is 6100 kg, takeoff weight is 10600 kg for PL modification and 10650 for PS modification, max takeoff weight - 12000 kg. Payload - 4000 kg in the cargo hold or 5000 kg at external load.

Question - fuel weight is specified in kg, is it by taking into account fuel density?

The FREMM, Egyptian and Moroccan FREMM have 2 VDSs. They have the UMS 4249 CAPTAS Mk4 which is confirmed by many sources. They also have the ATBF 2 which I cannot find associated with the FREMM anywhere. Is this 2nd VDS a mistake?

Despite having terrain following radars on board all Su-24MR and Su-24MP db entries do not have "Terrain following" property.

Btw, I suggest making that property obsolete: make code check terrain following ability on the start of a scenario/upon unit creation/unit damage event. Code looks at all the sensors of an a/c, finds the sensor with a TFR capability and sets internal flags of the unit accordingly. Such change will allow eliminating an a/c's low fly capability by destroying its TFR sensor.
Currently, a broken TFR sensor does not effect terrain following capability.

Searched the whole DB 470. Here is a list of all happy owners of TFR like sensors who lack "terrain following" capability.

ID Name Comments
296 CV-22A Osprey
467 Su-24MP Fencer F EW
472 Su-24MR Fencer E SLAR
475 EF-111A Raven
476 Su-24MP Fencer F EW
619 Su-24MP Fencer F EW
1597 MH-60K Blackhawk
1601 MH-47E Chinook SpecOps
2379 Su-24MR Fencer E SLAR
2647 Su-24MR Fencer E SLAR
3710 MH-47G Chinook SpecOps
3711 MH-60M Blackhawk
4211 Su-24MR Fencer E SLAR
4212 Su-24MR Fencer E SLAR

It seems helos do not need that TF property in the DB, they can fly very low anyway. Still the listed helos have terrain following radars.

I was very surprised to find problem with the F-5 fighters as that's pretty old and mass used plane with a lot of reference about it. In the DB it's implemented with 4 Sidewinders while in fact it used only 2.

https://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/f-5-specs.htm
https://www.militaryperiscope.com/mdb-smpl/weapons/aircraft/fighter/w0003154.shtml

On the topic of 4 missiles it's very complicated - I see only this reference. So if such stuff existed in metal so to say there is no info on who got it or when and I couldn't fignd photos of US, GR, TR etc F-5s with 4 Sidewinders.
http://www.tigercenturyaircraft.com/upgrade-kits/aim-9lm-missile-kits
quote:

Most fighter aircraft today are capable of carrying four (4) to six (6) AIM-9L/M missiles. The F-5 aircraft is an exception to this rule in that it is only certified to carry two (2) Sidewinders on the wing-tip stations. Operational analysis studies have shown that the combination of the high lethality of four (4) AIM-9L/M missiles with the agility and performance of the F-5 provides a substantial enhancement to the combat capability of the overall weapon system. Working in conjunction with the USAF Tactical Missile Technical Coordinating Group, TCA has developed a Quad Missile Carriage System (QMCS) modification kit that will allow the F-5 aircraft to carry four (4) AIM-9L/M Sidewinders.
The main impediment to adding two additional AIM-9 missiles to the F-5 in the past has been the unacceptable performance penalties that would result if these additional missiles were carried on the existing heavyweight, high-drag MAU-50 outboard pylons of the F-5. To counter this problem, TCA provides a new, low-drag, lightweight pylon (LDP) for the outboard station of the F-5 that is ideally matched to the characteristics of the AIM-9L/M.

Would it be possible to add a generic 1+ Megawatt laser for shipboard/land use, based on the ABL laser already in game? Also could a 150 kw electric continuous wave laser be added as the Navy is planning to test one in the coming year?

R-27R/RE are not just SARH, they use combined method: INS + DL (radio correction) midcourse + Terminal SARH

Lots of sources state it.
Developer: http://www.ktrv.ru/production/68/649/666/

CMANO DB latest descriptions also state that:
"DETAILS: The Alamo R-27R is guided to the target by a combination method. Initially, it is guided inertially with radio correction of trajectory in the initial flight phase. It then transitions to homing in the terminal phase. This provides for reliable target lock-on at long ranges from the launching aircraft.
...
SOURCES: Federation of American Scientists. "AA-10 ALAMO R-27." Accessed December 1, 2013 ; Federation of American Scientists. "AA-10 ALAMO R-27." Accessed December 1, 2013. http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/missile/row/aa-10.htm."

Also I have found & downloaded Mig-29 operation manual (declassified in october 1995). It is clearly stated there that R-27R1 is INS guided with radio correction or without it if the target is being painted by FCR radar. It's written that it gives a pilot ability to launch the missile at a target that could not be reliably locked [due to the distance/low RCS].
---
R-27T/TE should be INS + DL midcourse too. Currently it is "All-Aspect mid-course". It seems it means that it somehow doesn't need midcourse DL-correction of the cource. I doubt its IR seeker can lock at a target 45nm away.

All R-27 missiles are capable to engage seaskimmer. Mig-29 manual states that it can engage targets from 20m to 25000m.
Missile can engage from the top, thus ground clutter is not a problem.

Max altitude difference (missile platfrom-target) is 10km.

---

Mig29 radar can scan 50 deg azimuth arc (+-25 deg) for targets. Pilot can rotate radar antenna to get 130 deg arc (+-65)
Thus +-25 target search, and +-65 arc for missile guidance.

Beam width is 3.5 deg.

Source: Mig29 operation manual ("Боевое применение Миг 29"), pages 8-11

---
Currently in the game lots of multirole crafts does not have ground search capabilities. Actually all currently operational Russian crafts, even those that were especially designed for ground attack role like su-24/su-34, do not see even large buildings on the ground. That's a shame. Even old su-24 radar can see moving ground targets in real life, let alone large ones.
Meanwhile most US multirole crafts, even old ones (ex. A-6E, 1975), see ground targets. The only exception I've found is multirole f-16. F-16 (at least multirole mods) should see ground targets too.
Most chinese crafts have the same problem too in the game. Only some future crafts (2017-2018+) where given ground search capabilities.

Actually it is a big issue. While the game is focused at Air-Naval warfare, most SAM systems are ground based, so ground search radars should be given more love.

---
Su-35S Irbis radar should have +-120 deg azumuth search arc (240 deg). At least for missile guidance.
Max tracked contacts:30
Max illuminated targets: 2-8
[Developer site states "8", but Russian wiki states that 8 is for ARH missile corrections, for SARH missiles it is 2 targets. However wiki directs to the developer site as a source]

Peak impulse power: 20 kWatt
Average impulse power: 5 kWatt
Illumination power: 2 kWatt

Engine AL-41F-1S
Arfterburn thrust is 14500 kg (instead of 14800 in DB)
As stated by developer, engines are able to accelerate aircraft to supersonic speed without afterburn thrust.
Source, Developer: http://www.umpo.ru/Good27_16_141.aspx

It seems L-band wing radar should be excluded from Su-35S configuration. Or marked as a hypothetical.
---
Su-30MKI based crafts (SM, MKA, MKM)
It seems they should have supermaneuverability flag set. Depends on your criteria for it.
Wiki suggests thrust vectoring + non-afterburn trust to weight ratio > 1.
Su-30MKM already have supermaneuverability flag. It is based on Su-30MKI, first Su-30 thust vectoring plane. Thus all other Su-30MKI based crafts (SM, MKA and MKI itself) should have supermaneuverability too.

---
Su-30MKI based crafts (SM, MKA, MKM)
N011M Bars radar system is fitted at Su-30MKI based crafts.
The radar should have PESA flag set.

Target search arc: +-70 deg (140 arc) [instead of +-22.5 deg currently]

Average impulse power: 1.5 kWatt
Illumination power: 1 kWatt

The guy at 1:03 is definitely Eugene Victor Tooms from X-Files. NIIP is doomed.

Note the power difference between Irbis-E and Bars-M radars. However in the game they are currently more or less on the same level. But I did not do extensive tests. May be I am wrong.
