Seems that there are lots of things to ponder on since this thread now has almost 3500 posts and it keeps on going. I need to ponder on that.

And we desperately need a update on the bird and the bath.

Birds have a hard time. When they're just trying to take a bath there are all these preverts watching. I will henceforth make a special effort to catch them in the act, but I'm just paparazzi.

Just hope they didn't watch Alfred Hitchcock.

Let me speak of some non-avians for a moment. My neighbor has a couple of now mighty oaks in his back yard and there is another a short way away. It takes two years for an oak to make an acorn and drop it. This is about the intelligence of squirrels. Obviously they cannot live on acorns alone, no matter how many they bury. What is amazing to me is that they prune the ends of the branches off in years that are not producing. If you have a green thumb, which I do like all gorns, but mine is not all that effective, pruning the end of branches off causes the plant (tree or otherwise) to make more branches. Thus the tree becomes bushier, creates more acorns, more acorns for the squirrels to eat. There is no accident here. The remarkable thing is they put effort into pruning oak branches in off years when it will be a year or two before they reap any profit. Does anyone still think humans invented agriculture?

Keep it up, and you'll find yourself trapped in a phone booth by angry birds. Very angry birds.

Hey, Chickenboy, I just adopted a pet. Doesn't move around much. What species is this?

Don't see any mouthparts. Male?

Some kind of Culex I expect.

I'm not surprised that "The Great Old One" has some giant rats along for terrestrial defense. How they found his lair from satellite images is astounding.

I thought the colour of the fur on those giant rats looked familiar! Makes sense they would match the "Great Old One".

There are some foolish pirates who call this "The Flying Spaghetti Monster". I am sure they are mistaken.

I had a pretty good scare this a.m.. Woke up and checked my email and there was a note from American Express saying I hadn't paid my bill. I pulled out my current statements, which aren't due yet. I have a green card which is non-revolving and a blue card which is. Doesn't matter, I pay both of them off in full each month regardless. I mail a check for each account in separate envelopes with the bill stub included. Checking the statements I see they applied both checks to the blue card account, leaving me a credit, and nothing to the green card account. I called them up and got that straightened out. I asked "Does this sort of thing happen often?" Reply - "Oh, yes. Some of our customers have up to five cards and things get mixed up sometimes". ! My question is this: If they can misapply a check to the wrong account, what's to keep them from applying it to the account of a different customer?

I find this to be a pretty amazing story regardless of the truth of it. Supposedly this story was taken to be a diary entry of Hemingway when he was 10 yrs old of a trip to Ireland for his parents. He didn't travel to Ireland when he was 10, so now they realize it is fiction. Now they are assuming he wrote it when he was 10. However, you can see drawings of a ship that resembles the Titanic and he says "yesterday we saw an iceberg". Did he really come up with this story when he was 10 or write it after the Titanic disaster?

A different kind of chaff. Could they be trained to fly over German radar in a certain other game?
