Hi,

a flight (Mascot80) of two Super Etendard are on a pre-planned strike mission.

Side and Mission doctrine is set to Allow Refuel. When clicking on the flight in GROUP VIEW, this is displayed correctly. When clicking on the a/c in UNIT VIEW, Use Refuel is shown as Not allowed. This also said in the messages when manually sending the group for refuelling.

Am I doing something wrong?

Build 972.10, save attached.

regards
chris

This is probably an inheriting thing. I suspect that at some point, one of the rule inheritors was set to 'no refuel' and this was passed to unit. And then changed at the inheritor level, but the unit level one did not change.
If you go to the mission editor, and bring up the mission's ROE, there are buttons on the bottom of the screen to reset the mission units to those conditions. Pressing the 'reset mission units' should bring the units into alignment with all the ROEs for the mission.
Try this to see if the units change to the correct ROE.

Inheriting ROE is a bit complicated; side -> group -> mission -> unit (I think that was the order), and then you have the ability to change each level independently once it is inherited.

Thanks for the tips, but I am still having the same problem. I recreated the mission from scratch - inheritance works down to the group but not for the units.

I think this is something mission-type specific: When setting Refuel Allowed manually on the units on the inbound leg it resets to Not Allowed on the outbound leg after weapons delivery.

Mayby I need to rebuild the whole sceanrio, this has been migrated along since CMANO version 0.1 :)

regards
chris

Hi there,

You've manually overridden the refuelling settings for the aircraft.

Try this:

Go to Unit View.

Drag-select the fighters.

Press Ctrl +F9 to bring up the Doctrine window.

Press the 'Reset Doctrine (use inherited settings)' button in the Doctrine window. The aircraft will now have proper (inherited) settings.

This only works while the aircraft are airborne. If you want to update the aircraft before take-off, do this:

Select the airbase.

Press F6 to open the Air Ops window.

Drag-select the aircraft you want to update the doctrine for.

Right-click and select Doctrine.

Press the 'Reset Doctrine (use inherited settings)' button in the Doctrine window. The aircraft will now have proper (inherited) settings.
