I manage to get the board game (naval tactics) going, so far I got the counters done. Now working on the charts and then booklets. Manage to grab some photos or pictures off the google images, since they have no copyright or watermarks on them. So I figured I can use them in my projects.

I have seen so many board games as well pc games that they have those pictures, usually back and white during world war II. Few games I have and checking their manuals and credits, etc. Didn't find anything of permission of using those images.

Can someone tell me, that if I use those images in my projects and wont be a problem or? Been trying to get this up and running and hopefully I have this out by end of the year.

The defense of copyrights in the video game sector is almost null compared to the audio(music) and video(cinema) sectors.

Try using this search engine, I use it to find graphics that I need for my projects.

Yeah. I agree i would most def get a copyright license simply because without such an offer or license no one has the right to use the material. I would recommend that you take a quick look at this right here https://www.1and1.co.uk/digitalguide/websites/web-design/free-images-online-what-to-consider/ It attempts to explain the different types of open source licenses that exist.

Images don't have to include a watermark or a copyright symbol to be copyrighted. In fact every image is copyrighted to its creator automatically, so requires a license unless there is something specifically saying that they release it.

Hopefully you won't be caught out by the people "maliciously putting their photos on the internet"

Cheers

The whole issue could be avoided by drawing the images. Like AGEOD games do.
