Demon Haunted World by Carl Sagan.

You won't like what you read in all likelihood, which is probably why you need to read it.

Honourary mention. Book 9 of the Sword of Truth series was quite an interesting statement. But you'd need to read the first 8 to get the full effect.

Love Letters by Debbie Macomber, and no, guys, it won't do anything for you I'm sure :) But it opened my eyes to where my writing was supposed to be. 30 years wasted trying to discover what I really wanted to write as an author (I thought for a long time it was supposed to be science fiction), and then life put me in the right situation to realize, I'd always wanted to write romance novels. I write romance novels by the way.

- Of Human Bondage by Somerset Maugham.

Well now I know to read one of Colleen McCullough's books that's sitting on my shelf.

Besides the Bible of course, I would say "Landscape Turned Red: The Battle of Antietam," by Stephen W. Sears. Playing it in conjunction with SSI's Battle of Antietam is what makes it so memorable.

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card last year. I think because I had never heard of him before and was so surprised at the quality of the story. Just read Speaker for the Dead which was his original plan for his first book but he wrote Ender's Gamd first. It was equally good.

Impossible. I couldn't even narrow it down to a top 10 I'm afraid. And as for giving advice, I think it would be helpful to know what is of interest to you first.

But to try and answer the impossible question though, and if I had to pick just one book then I will go with this one simply on the basis its probably the only book I've read three times. Whether that makes it the greatest book I've read I don't know, but it certainly proves it was an interesting read!

Massachusetts rules of the road handbook. Saved me a bundle fighting moving violation fines. Found that many police and court officers did not know how to interpret motor vehicle rules of the road vs state statutes. Best book I ever read...!!
