Palembang...soon the Allies will have another 20,000 troops here. Troop capacity is 40,000 and I have 16,000 there with most of it being support.

Don't have the navy to take control of the seas. Don't have the air force to contest the air.

Certainly not sunk. A quick trip to Singers and she will be back out hunting.

Type 93 is a lot bigger than a type 4 ... so hard to say. if you didn't hear sinking sounds, I would agree ...

FWIW I've had Dutch subs wiped out by one mine hit before, though I don't recall and probably never paid attention to the details. But it's certainly possible. Even if you got this one, though, it has plenty of siblings.

Ok, so, isn't it time to bring navy and air assets back from the North Pacific theatre?

Let's face the very optimistic side of the thing, you could bang out such a big chunk of the allied naval and land assets employed in Malay/Sumatra....if you'd employ the almost full balance of naval airforce + others.

I mean, Obvert so far has been that effective in callling for the dispersal of your forces...

The 24th A division gets roughed up, one mile short of escaping...but losses are mostly disabled. That will change now that they are in the open and will be swept by Migs and bombed into oblivion. They at least temporarily cut a supply line for the Soviets...an aspect I have been trying to figure out how to do...but lack any troops for.

Soviet air dominant in 3 spots with sweeps and heavy bombing.

My hopes of taking Wenchow failed about 5 attacks ago. I really need these 4 IJA Divisions doing other things, but they are pretty much trashed.

Americans flew in Paratroopers and paid the ridiculously low PP cost to convert them. It pretty much broke my personal morale. Everytime I look at this front it just further burns and I see no way to get thru 43 without AV. Other players disagree with my prediction, but he can fly bombers and even fighters in from China.

Allies have had American troops at a lot of Soviet bases, ships at Soviet bases, etc. I guess they cant move from a Soviet base by land, but they can be moved by ship or plane. So it might not even have been paratroopers. Paratroopers briefly took a base in the Kuriles, so I just said them. There were other Yanks at Soviet bases in Sakhalin too so who know what troops got there.

No deliberate attack at Palembang today, which I really thought was coming. But, hey, it was bombed, and bombarded twice (once in daylight) and then bombarded by the Allied troops present just in case the defenders felt neglected.

When I lose Palembang, I will never get it back or at least at this point I don't see a way to get it back.

We will make a college try this turn...selective search arcs, send the fleet in and hope for the best, but I suspect he can swamp the KB with surface ships. Hmmm.

At least the IJA troops are being protected by all the bombing and bombardment by tons of soak units, so they hopefully wan't disintegrate in one attack.

Well, such that it is has been steaming that way for several days or longer. Sad to say, that every shipyard is full to the brim with warships repairing.

I'm incredulous that the Allies have that much ground strength this early in troops presumably from unrestricted commands.

Its the SOV troops ... Huge impact. It is causing the IJ to commit forces that otherwise would be in DEI/Burma. In particular air units, but also ground units that could be bought out. None of that happens now.

Maybe with prep and intent taking on the SOV early is possible, but it is in no way easy, even against the AI. It is simple math, the SOV units just tip the balance to the allies in '42.

No joke that Pax; by this time Japan has normally pulled out all the tank regiments for use in China, plus 2 full divisions and lots of support troops. Instead, I have had to heavily reinforce Manchuko and the Kuriles.

Even had I prepared for a Jan 1942 war with the Soviets it would still be very bad as Japan can't fight the Mig, Soviets have their Stalingrad divisions, but it would be significantly better since Oscar Ic production would be 200 planes, no early success of Soviets in Sakhalin, and the Soviets would be marching into prepared positions.

I forgot to post air losses last turn...we both lost a bakers dozen or so. Mine were mostly on the ground losses, while Allies suffered losses a little here and there all over, and some British bombers over China to the lowly Nate.

Another tough day for Japan. 14 Kates for two AMcs....oh well, this might prompt the Allied surface fleet to come out and play. There cold be American CVs here now, at Singers.

Relatively speaking very few Marauders did this from 11K. Of course the first attacks are always the worst.

Hey Lowpe, I'm been reading this for a week or so. Up to page 53 so I have a ways to go yet. Concerning Magwe, ANY oil I can get out of there is a plus. It's doomed to destruction.

If I was in this situation, I'd probably be in a fetal position.

Mike, I hate to tell you it happens to 95% of JFBs (well, sooner or later)...and in truth, I am coming off a spectacular game with Joc where I invaded Hollywood and took Alaska. Of course, that one was scenario 2 insanity.
