No, we felt the theatre/period division is much more relevant on the long run, so we distributed the new scenarios among the thematic folders.

But you can see the list of them in the first post here: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4373423

Especially like the way that 'PLAY BY E-MAIL ONLY RECOMMENDED' is worded, because I've played a few on that list solitaire and they were satisfactory. It happens that at times designers are their own worst critics and feel that their PO isn't good enough. So it is worth noting that even if you see this, you might still want to give it a try rather than totally pass it by. It's also easy to open a scenario in the Editor to see if there is what I call 'anything going on with the PO', or if 'nobody is home' by checking out the Objectives. Maybe that is not something that new players would be interested in doing, but that is what I did years ago.

Any what ?

In a thread about scenarios? Tough to say. I know a pretty decent bar in Boulder, CO, if that'd help him.

guidebookdave, if you're just starting out with TOAW (like me!), I'd suggest giving a try:

- Korea 50-51 (it's been duplicated as the "Tutorial" scenario, but is in the "Modern - Asia" folder as well)
- Kassarine 43 (Also in the Tutorial folder, but that's more of a "good full scenario for beginners" designation)
- Cuba 62 (Get your feet wet with amphibious landings and a short unit list, on a smaller body of land. Cuba's not exactly a pushover, though!)
-Malta 42 (A what-if of a full Axis invasion of Malta instead of committing to the Afrika campaign. The Brits have to hold out until massive reinforcements arrive, it's fun)

perfect XXXCorps, thanks and sorry for the late reply, stuck elsewhere atm sorting a few minor issue out

i don't get to install the game till Monday, with even then time being an issue.

but yes comparing the map to the ones made by R.T. Smith, the creator and programmer of ARNHEM: THE 'MARKET GARDEN' OPERATION, one of my favorite battles of the time of my youth, it will be nice to see a modern take on it, with the scale and depth of the engine used, so look forward to playing it

Thanks - very helpful tips.

Can the Devs please ask all scenario designers to state on line one of their description whether there is any PO or not within the scenario? That would save us a lot of searching.

Better still, create a pair of PO and N-PO master folders for us in the next update, with the other folders nested within each...

They have, sometimes we don't listen

It is actually on lines 3 & 4 of the requested Briefing Format.

Over the years I've collected a billion scenarios, some very obscure ones, which prompted me to create a more refined archieve in my TOAW III directory... I'll be having fun(!) converting and tweaking these for TOAWIV

`Eastern Front 41-45' plays well vs the Axis or Russian AI even if at 200 turns long is best suited as PBEM.

That list is a great help for me, I'm on the fence about the game because I have preferred solo play since back in the days of Tactics II . There looks to be a lot of scenarios there for me.

It's a shame how many of us remember playing Tactics II. What we need are more young wargamers who say "Tactics II?! Neeever heard of it."

There is also a Market Garden scenario. I played it last night with the PO playing both sides. The Germans won after 3 hours of play and 20 moves, as they did historically. There are a few hundred units on each side, so playing this solo could take many days. However using the PO to execute one's moves after giving orders to formations could reduce the time considerably.

Hi, is there a scenario list somewhere that tells us the SIZE of scenarios?
For example if I want to squeeze in a quick half-hour game between watching 'Destroyed in Seconds' and 'When Ghosts Attack' on TV, I'd like to be able to select a scen tagged as 'small'.

Wow. Thanks. That helps a lot.

I've been playing the "Italy '43" scenario against the PO (I'm the Allies). I looked through the scenario briefing for a long time searching for whether or not I could/should play against the PO.

I didn't see where it mentioned it in the briefing but I went ahead and decided to play it anyway.

No specific recommendation means it should be fine in both single- and multiplayer.

Is there a list of scenarios that are native to TOAW 4? Would they play much better than non-native scenarios?

Yes and yes. WELL.......it's a matter of taste actually. In the mind of the beholder. What you bring to the
party matters. If you've got no experience playing TOAW at all you probably might not notice the difference
but the TOAW IV scenarios were designed specifically for TOAW IV and would therefore probably be
the most recent production of any scenarios and also the most tested scenarios ( I can testify to that ) and
probably some of the more balanced scenarios. Try both kinds and see what you think. I have and I think it's
noticable.
