I have been reading a number of posts on TOAW IV. Some are negative -vis-à-vis the lack of SP scenarios.
Some are questions about a huge number of issues - some are critical, some not so.
But I have yet to see a large number of posts thanking all those that spent countless hours working on this project.
As a professor of project management, I want to thank you all for you efforts and wish each and everyone of you a Happy Thanksgiving! j

YES! Thank you. I played the 1st, 2nd and a Century of Warfare and Operational Art of War 3. I found the 3rd rather lacking over the past few years due to modern hardware. Being able to play once again in modern days is fantastic. Now the only question is when will 5 come out? :)

I agree with Joey and will add that for the few sheckles that they receive for all their work, a few Thank You's could be nice.

Thank You for continuing to work on a game that I have enjoyed so much over the past fifteen years.

I want to add my thanks to all involved. For these old eyes this is a big visual improvement. Also the various battle planning aids, reports, etc make this a more enjoyable gaming experience.

And I too would like to add my thanks to the TOAW IV developers. I am a newcomer to this series, although I have been an avid PC wargamer since the early 90's. I still have only scratched the surface thus far, but I am enjoying my play immensely.

Thanks for this new version of the game.

I had Version III, and I like the new features and layout of the this new version. I have two systems with dual monitors so I did a comparison. I copied all 900+ version III scenarios into an secondary folder in IV. Copied graphics to IV, backing up the original. Then I loaded the same version III scenario in each game to see them side by side.

Tried three scenarios: Winter War 39, Spanish Civil War, and France 14. All three older scenarios played great in IV, and while France 14 gave me an error in III and wouldn't load, it did just fine in IV. Graphics with these older scenarios look better in IV and the gameplay seems improved as well, more updated.

My $0.02 - I was a novice TOAW III player over the years; never even did pbem. After a while (my own fault) game in my mind went from good to "meh." However, this new version is so much more than a graphics update. It truly is a must-buy for anyone who got even a little fun out of III.

I am "peeling the onion" and keep finding more cool stuff. And with the new interface, this process is more of a pleasure. Many of the answers by Oberst and other veterans have been extremely helpful.

There has been much improvement, but still IV is not intuitive, especially the editor. So anyone playing for the first time, it's tempting to flip out a bit. Even WitE, I was able to push counters and edit scenarios while never reading the manual.

Fortunately, there are a lot of people to help (Thank You), and my guess is sales are fairly healthy already. Also looking forward to the user interface guide for the Editor, whenever Bob Cross gets a spare moment .

My thanks too! Completely new to the game and system. I've been playing the Crusader scenario, messing around with Elmer, watching the AI moves, and I have to say it all seems to work really nice to me. The map is great, most things are intuitive, in the sense that you can play as a complete novice, as I am, and know nothing about time stamps or whatever (haven't got to that yet), and still have a fun, immersive, absorbing game that is historically accurate in terms of OOB, map and possibilities. I have been unpleasantly surprised by the enemy AI, which I expected to be be a walk-over. It is very far from that. It seems to schedule bombardments intelligently and effectively enough, then follows in with good, effective attacks. I am being thoroughly beaten in Crusader right now, which is great. Eventually, I might even get onto a PBEM++ challenge....Plus, so many different battles of many different scales, from many different areas of warfare. Fantastic value, I think. Good job!

Just like to chip in with another big thank you. Been waiting for this for a while and, yes, there's a few teething problems but overall I think it is a definite improvement over the last version. I really like the new UI and reports, dig the new map graphics and am now wondering how we managed without the time stamp display on our units before!

Titfer raised to all involved in getting this done, I salute you chaps.

Fantastic iteration of the excellent series, which I have enjoyed since the original TOAW--
Enjoying the UI graphics simplification and new combat summary charts. Better situational awareness.

I always come back to this game when I need my fix of operational warfare--

Thanks for all the great hours of enjoyment in trouncing and being trounced!

I'll add my Thanks! in here too. I had not played my copy of TOAW3 in a few years, but decided to take the plunge on this new version of the game and I am pleasantly surprised with the quality and look of the update. I'm am relearning how to play the game and reading my way through the manual, but so far I am very happy my purchase and look forward to playing this game for many years.

Keep up the good work guys!

Steve
