Hello, having some issues with scrolling and mouse clicking. For example, when I click on a button, the game freezes/pauses for a few seconds (sometimes a little longer) and then my mouse pointer becomes positioned on another part of the screen. Also sometimes requires multiple clicks. Scrolling is very delayed and often see the little blue spinning circle and other times it just seems to freeze and then all of a sudden all the past scrolling requests take place. In some instances goes to a black screen for awhile before scrolling happens. Very hard to control at the moment.

I have attached my dxdiag report. I have pretty decent system and just updated my AMD driver to the latest. In addition, I rebooted my pc after all the installs to make sure something didn't need reset. Not sure what else to try.

At the moment I am at a lost and because of these issues, fairly unplayable at the moment.

these are only notes,

User DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
System DPI Setting: 144 DPI (150 percent)

quote:

+++ WER9 +++:

Event Name: RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64
Response: Not available
Cab Id: 0

Problem signature:
P1: chkdsk.exe
P2: 10.0.15063.0
P3: 10.0.15063.2.0.0

nothing in the report which mentioned the game mentioned in this forum, but plenty for other games and a few windows system app posted, which is more of a concern or would be to me, as chkdsk.exe

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CHKDSK

It verifies the file system integrity of a volume and fixes logical file system errors.

so question next is, how many games roughly have you had issues with?

and have you tried your anti virus logs to see what it's been doing with certain games and or programs on the pc?

as you use bitdefender or did as per your report?

4 error's in the log is from your anti virus / firewall program

1 is a program error Acronis True Image etc or same sort of file back up / imaging program

and one for a trial game, which gave a error report.

for me add the game and game folder to the white list of the AV program and see if that helps in the delay your getting, regarding the others, it maybe you have them loaded all the time in the startup when some are only needed to be loaded when used, and do or can conflict etc with other programs so you get a app or program crash in the background which gets reported,

if any of this happens while your playing a game, it can or could either cause issues or even worse case crash the game, and it's not a game issue if it happens, its back ground app or program, for it to be a game issue, an error would need to be in the report or it acting up, as there is none, but you still have issues, try and finding out from looking in the AV logs and or your firewall which other app or program are acting up and find a way of fixing that first, then see if that helps with the game in question.

good luck report if it does or doesn't help you and we can try something else

Answers to your questions:

1) All my DPI settings within Windows 10 are set to the default and recommendations, I never change them and I went into the display screen and confirmed that.

2) Chkdsk is something I ran a week or two ago, I do that at certain times to determine if any disk errors. Everything was fine.

3) I ran the game without my virus programs running (both Bitdefender and Malwarebytes) and the issue continued. Nothing in my logs to suggest a problem with the game.

4) Acronis TrueImage (backup software) - I actually uninstalled this yesterday completely and the same issue happened.

5) Not sure about the trial game (Battlefront)...that is uninstalled now as I have installed the non-trial version. Same issue with this game though.

6) I own countless Matrix games, including TOAW 3 and they all work fine and don't experience this issue. Every one of my non-matrix games working fine too, the only issue is with this game.

So at this point the game is unplayable for me since can't really click on the information boxes (without a ton of work and long wait times) with success and as I scroll that doesn't work right away but takes many seconds to catch up if it ever does and in the meantime it locks my screen.

Hoping others may have suggestions, one of the first times I have had technical issues with any game since my computer is kept updated and fairly decent.

I’ve had a similar issue. It seems like scrolling and movements actions get “backed up”...then the flood gate opens and all these moves happen at an accelerated rate.

ok posted it as a bug or error, not sure why it's happening, but if the developer needs any more logs and or questions etc, i'm sure he will ask, sorry for the delay and issue, it will be looked at and if it can be replicated i'm sure it also can be fixed

I'm having the same problems which make TOAW IV nearly unplayable (scroll speed, clicking units results in 2 sec delays etc) .. I'm trying to play it with a Predator G9-592, all drivers etc are the latest and everything else I occasionally play works fine.

With the additional feedback of others having the issue, hopefully the developers are able to come up with a solution since I agree it is unplayable as is. It's disappointing since have been waiting for this game for awhile but as long as it is corrected then I'll be fine. If its not correctable, not sure what options we have.

Hopefully we will get some direct feedback from the developers soon.

Weird, can everyone with this problem please post their DXDiag, and I can see if there's common hardware? Also, please try turning your sound off to see if that helps. Also, does moving the mouse help any? It would generate some events to make sure the message loop keeps working. Hey, I'm really grasping with that last one.

my report is posted above and since i was attempting to click and zoom the mouse was being moved. i have also tried turning sound off and one time it seemed like it was a little better (still bad and not acceptable) but largely was unchanged. likely was just me hoping it would make it better.

I tried without sound but couldn't notice any difference. I'll post my dxdiag shortly.

Zooming in and out the first time is very disk intensive as it loads the graphics. After that it should be faster.

Hello,

I have the same problem, my game seem lag more than 1 second when I make a clic.
It's seem a little better when I disable the sound.
Please I need a fix...

Config: Win 10 64bit, i5 2500k 3.3 GHz, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750Ti.

I know, is not a recent build but I can run game like the witcher 3 without too much problems.

Cordially.

please,

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

once the report has been made, just attach it to your post with first adding the file to a zip, which is then permitted to attach to the forum

thanks,...

Hasn’t improved after the first time, seems to always happen and it’s not just seconds slow, it can take awhile and then catches up locking the game

I just gave TOAW a go now and for my great astonishment it ran perfectly. I'm playing Forgotten Battles - Cracow 14. I just loaded the latest autosave (turn 2, just started yesterday) and the whole turn ran well. But once the PO ran and turn 3 started it was back to the same again, 2sec delays between clicking units and sluggish scrolling speed. Drop me a PM if you want me to run some diagnostics or whatever you need from me, I'm glad to help out.

Doing some further diagnosing it actually looks like the game starts to turn sluggish around the middle of the PO's first turn. I can duplicate this with another scenario. I also notice that when I start for eg Komarow 1914 TOAW burns some 170Mb of RAM but this increases rapidly to 214Mb during the PO's first turn, might be normal but seems quite a lot of ram for just storing differences is equipment and supply etc which should not use that much?

Thanks for posting more details on your issue.....the more we can provide the better chance we can resolve. I looked at your dxdiag file and looks like we have very different systems so this might be harder to find if we don't have something in common. Just curious, what security/antivirus software you use on your computer?

Just to throw this in, just in case. I had a major problem with Combat Mission games some time ago, which took a lot of messing around to fix. It turned out to be related to my 2 disc set-up (an SSD and an HDD). The game was loading sounds from the HDD to the SSD as the game went along and because these all had to be transferred from the HDD to the SSD there were all sorts of delays and jerky behaviour going on. The reason wasn't the loading between the discs per se but the fact that the HDD had a setting which meant it was 'head parking' all the time. A normal energy, wear-and-tear-saving setting. I finally (and I mean finally) cured this with a free program called Crystal Disc Info, which had a slider to change something called AAM/APM control. After that everything great. I mention this just in case these issues are affecting people with 2 discs. But it could happen anyway due to the 'head parking' on an HDD. Probably it has nothing to do with these issues, but just in case.

sorry for the late reply, regarding your laptop results report etc,

Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 Dedicated Memory: 128 MB

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M Dedicated Memory: 6106 MB

the game doesn't know which one to use and as you see, there is alot of difference, some games will auto select or ask, but for others you need to manually tell it as per guide

http://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/pc-components/how-set-default-graphics-card-3612668/

making the NVIDIA card the default one for all to use

thanks but i only have one disk and don’t see this issue with other games, including toaw 3. plus other aspects such as loading the game seems fine so i would assume if disk related other areas of the game would be impacted too. although since the game is unplayable at the moment, i have gotten very far into the game to know if other issues might exist,

as nothing seemed to work for you Grim.Reaper, only other suggestion is play as it is for now and hope as soon as the first patch comes out it makes it more playable, as plenty have managed to play it on a lot less resources than your spec / report has

not an option to play. as already stated, it’s an extreme chore to play under these conditions when every click takes many seconds and throws your mouse pointer in different places and if you attempt to change zoom at all it often locks up and if it does work, queues up the requests and then goes out of control. no way working through that is an acceptable or enjoyable experience.

i don’t often return games and i really want to play this one, but if not corrected in the patch, i’ll likely seek a refund. hopefully there is a possible resolution found especially since not just me with the issue.

iv'e replied here 4 times now only to have had my post lost with server errors etc so will do it one more time and call it a day, as something up with the forum atm

i still think it's a AV / security issue

so one last thing to try with bitdefender

http://www.bdantivirus.com/bitdefender/antivirusplus/html/tweaks.game.html

and turn on gaming mode and add the folder and game to the safe list, so it doesn't scan while your gaming, just to see if that helps

Kaspersky. I tried disabling it and that didn't have any effect.
