Hello everyone,
I am new to CMANO, but I have already started using the editor.
I would like to also ask you a few questions:
1) I’ve tried to do a SOSUS scenario, but even if the SOSUS has a 1000nm range in the database, it can detect only subs directly above it. I am trying to replicate the behaviour of mission 1 of Northern Inferno, can you tell me how to do that? (I don’t have NI, so I can’t open that mission in the editor)
2) I’ve already used the refuelling and UNREP, but I can’t so far replenish the stores (i.e., replenish the missiles for airplanes on a carrier). Is it possible to do that?
3) In ASW missions, I’ve noted that sometimes airplanes stop dropping sonobuoys after reloading a save, even if they still have plenty onboard. How can I make them drop buoys again?
4) At the start of each scenario, there is a box with 4 checks, for Aircraft damage etc. Is it possible to select that? If I click on it, nothing happens, even if I have Chains of War.

Hello and welcome!

1. That could possibly be a bug. Can you post a save that demonstrates this issue?

2. Yes, it should be possible. Can you post a save of the problematic situation?

3. Again, a save would help. (See also point #2 here)

4. This display is "read only"; it is there to let you know which features are currently enabled/disabled for the scenario in hand so that you know what to expect. To actually change them, you have to load the scenario in ScenEdit mode, and from the "Editor" main menu click on "Scenario features".

By the way, I want to congratulate you and the team, CMANO is amazing!!
I have a .scen file for question 1) and 2), as I was creating a scenario and stumbled upon these problems.
For question 1), the file is "SOSUS - NATO vs Russia - ALPHA", just start it on the NATO side and SOSUS will see only the subs that are just above it. I don't have Northern Inferno yet, but I have seen some videos on Youtube and wanted to create a modern-days version of mission 1, but I think SOSUS doesn't work properly.
For question 2) the file is "USA Land Strike on Lybia", when I try to UNREP the ship after striking the Lybian force with multiples sorties of helicopters, only fuel is replenished. What should I do to replenish the helicopters' magazines on the ship?
For question 3), the file is "Karlskrona Tourists, 1993 - 3.save" (The mission is in the Community Scenario Pack). I saved after sinking 3 subs, but when reloading to sink the last one, the airplane stops dropping the buoys.
I have Command V1.13 build 972.11 with Chains of War.

Hello Dimitris.
I have now also a save for question 1), the problem with SOSUS.
I think I have solved problem 2), as I was doing a mistake in the UNREP.
Is it possible to put Supply Ships in a Tanker-like Support mission and then have the ships going there to UNREP?
So 2) and 4) solved, just need some help for 1) and 3).

Tested SOSUS and it is able to detect the ultra-quiet Lada SSKs at 65nm. Which seems fair, or?

As a tips, the SOSUS arrays are not normally placed on the deep sea bed, but rather hung off the edge of the continental shelf, looking into the deep sea basin. Especially the continental shelf around the GIUK Gap choke point as well as the Norway-Bjornoya-Svalbard line.

On Sonobuoys, the aircraft in question is "13. Helikopterdivisionen #5"?

I pressed play and it laid two more sonobuoys before reaching the end of its plotted course. What happens on your end?

Hello emsoy and thanks for the answers!
Yes, the aircraft is that SH89 Aviocar C212 MPA. I've re-played the scenario and indeed it drops some more buoys, but it leaves quite a large zone in the South-East free, the same zone were the Kilo is. I think that's because the area is already filled with buoys, so probably more of a problem of Kilo being silent.
I've modified the SOSUS mission to include your hints, but it still isn't able to detect contacts away. It's only able to detect 3 or 4 subs in the entire area. I've watched some playthrough of Mission 1 of Northern Inferno and I was planning to do a similar mission, with a lot of contacts to investigate. Is it possible to model that behaviour? I'm forgetting something or doing something wrong?
There is one more problem. In the second save included, the ATR72MP near Iceland always runs out of fuel. I've tried restarting again the mission, but every time it's going Bingo too late. Had to hurry out a tanker. Is that a bug or I've simply messed something in the Doctrine?
