I am hoping to be able to create at minimum 10 planets a day for the mod and hopefully have the first 75 planets done by the end of next weekend.

The mod will have the more well known races such as the Wookies amd Hutts but will also have new aliens such as the Drabatan.

I have created the picture below in photoshop for the mod showing a Drabatan soldier on his home planet of Pipada.

The Drabatans are supporters of the Rebellion and form part of the Rebel Alliance Special Forces.

The first gas giant created for the mod.

The planet Bespin which was where Cloud City from the Empire Strikes Back is found.

BestineIV is the first ocean world for the mod.

This planet is aligned with the Galactic Empire and is well known for its ship repair and construction industry and for this reason became the location of large Imperial naval shipyards.

Bonadan is an urban wasteland and I figure its best classification in this mod is as a barren rock planet.
Hence this is the first barren rock planet for the mod.

I notice that in the images folder for planets there are images for forest worlds , however the Editor does not have an entry for placing Forest worlds.

Will look into this.

When you see Jabba the Hutt in the Star Wars movies you might think that Tatooine is the Hutt homeworld.

Tatooine however is not in Hutt space and the Hutt homeworld is actually a swamp forest world called Nal Hutta in the Y'Toub system.

One issue I had was to find out what starships the Hutt used.

In the picture below you can see a Heavy Hutt Fighter created in photoshop.

The Gungan race will appear in the mod .......

I originally had some ideas about what to do with the Gungans as many people seem to hate Jar Jar Binks. My idea however was just a little too dark so I have revisited my plans.

After Episode III the Dungans faced some very dark times at the hands of the Empire and were forced to flee Naboo. They ended up on Dantooine which is a planet that is hard to reach and was therefore likely to keep out of the Empire's interests.

The Dungans have 2 species with the Otolla rebuilding their city beneath the water while the Ankura built their homes inside the immense forests.

After a decade of hiding from the Empire both species of Dungans began travelling to nearby star systems.

I do thorough research on he planets in Star Wars before I add them into the mod.

When creating the home-world of Byss the original research as suggesting that Byss was a Gas Giant. This did not make sense and I then found out that Byss is a world of water and plateaus from which the world shown below was created.

Since Episode III Yoda has been hiding on Dagobah near a dark force cave which prevented Darth Sideous from finding him. During gameplay it is important that the Empire not be allowed to colonize Dagobah as Imperial Scouts would find Yoda and report to the Emperor.

If the Galactic Empire arrives in the Dagobah System Yoda will send a force message to Obi Wan Kenobi or Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance will have to concentrate all efforts in removing the Empire from Dagobah.

If the Empire stays on Dagobah then the following picture could happen.

I am currently adding the ships for the Empire as these ships need to be sized correctly in reference to the Death Star.

Have a look at the picture below and it shows the size of the Imperial Star Destroyers next to the Death Star.

I will probably not be able to replicate this difference in size accurately but would like to try and get something close.

Ideally I would like to increase the size of planets but for example Continental planets are restricted to 400 in size.

Once the Death Star and Star Destroyers are added I can then add in the X-Wings and Tie Fighters.

Doing size comparisions of the original Death Star to other planets:

The Death Star is :

1.4% the size of Geonosis
1.52% the size of Tatooine
1.30% the size of Coruscant



In comparision the size of a Star Destroyer is :

1% the size of the Death Star.


This would tie in with the size of the Star Destroyer to Death Star in the previous picture.

Below is the first look at the Galactic Empire ships near Coruscant.
The ships were placed into Distant Worlds Universe using the editor to test the look.
I am adding the ships with a different view than what other mods have shown the ships.


- The Death Star is no longer a Moon but is a ship.
- This means the Death Star can move through hyperspace when required
- With my mod I am trying the look of the ships not being a view directly from above
- Every ship in the mod will show the ship from the rear looking at the right hand side.

- The size of the Tie Fighters and Imperial Shuttle hopefully look similar to how they look in the films.
- In the picture below it looks like the Star Destroyer is smaller because it is further ahead.
- While the Star Destroyer and Shuttle have blue engine glare the Tie Fighters have never had this effect.

- The sizing of the planets and Death Star compared to the ships is explained as follows:
: The Tie Fighter, Shuttle and Star Destroyer are closer to the player
: Coruscant and the Death Star, though much bigger in size..are smaller as they are further away

Some more testing of the Imperial ships.

The ships I had before were tested but were not that great in the mod and have redone them.
Below is the picture of am Imperial Star Destroyer.

As you can see this is not the traditional top down ship view normally seen in Distant Worlds.

While the sizing of the Star Destroyer will be finalized when the Millenium Falcon, X-Wings , Tie-Fighters and so on have been added, it is still expected that the Star Destroyer will be roughly a similar size to what is shown above.

I am trying to convey the power of a Star Destroyer when it appears and the difficulty of trying to destroy it.

To ensure that computers do not go into melt down with a 100 Star Destroyers spread around the mod, I intend to put in place a procedure that will limt Star Destroyers and also ensure there is only one Death Star.

The other Star Destroyer in this mod will be the Super Star Destroyer Executor that Darth Vader was on in The Empire Strikes Back.

Working on the Executor in Photoshop before adding to the mod.

Have been working on the Star Destroyer Executor for last 2 hours and have almost got the basic ship in place.
Once I am happy with the look I can add the lights and such as seen in Return of the Jedi.

Below is the Executor before it plunged into the second Death Star

Due to it's size I am looking at having only one Super Star Destroyer Executor..... with the Executor and other Star Destroyers the Empire will be strong enough compared to the other races.

There is also the Death Star when it is built.

Creating the portraits for the characters and races often requires a lot of work to build the character itself.

This character shown below will also have a place in the mod in his fight against the Empire.
