I was wondering if many of you tried to play as the soviets in the 1942-1945 scenario against the AI? what did you think? is it well balance? is it a good alternative to the main 1941-1945?

the reason I want to skip the 1941-1945 is because memories of trying said scenario, (Soviets vs AI) were underwhelming, I DID give the Axis like 110 or 120 stats I think, so while their units were very powerful. how the AI used then... left something to be desired.
For example, it seams to me that the Axis was too cautions for 1941, I barely felt pressured when it came to say evacuation of Industry, saving the red army 1.0 as a whole, etc, etc,

I haven't played this game for like 2 years now! so things should have change, that is also a nice thing about this game, it keeps getting updated! that is awesome!

anyway, I want advice, you think I should give 1941-1945 a serious try? any good options/recommendations for 1942 / 1941 start?

PS: why the hell does the Red army only have TOW (2) Mountain divisions in 1942-1945 Scenario!? in the main start, there is 15 glorious Mountain divisions!!! (yes I know most of then are frozen but still).

I really like the Mountain divisions in War in the East. (made me research about ww2 Mountain units actually) so for me playing the 1942 start with that condition is troubling

the problem is that, from reading the Manuel, I can only create Mountain BRIGADES in 1945, Is that still true?

I have not played '42 start with Soviet however have tried '41 start and it did not work well.
The AI does not manage an attacking army well, so would not expect the Axis AI in '42 to run an effective campaign.

The problem of playing with soviets against AI is that the german player really needs to know how to be agressive (not suicidal) and know how to make pockets and, the AI really fails in both things. So, playing in 1942 is worse than playing in 1941. Giving better stats to the germans will just make your game frustrating, as germs will keep on pushing hex by hex no matter what, while you wont be able to push unitl late 1943 (at least that is my experience with 125 morale and 110 in the rest of stats)
