ORIGINAL: mikmykWS Try setting their posture to unfriendly instead of hostile. This will cause the interceptors to intercept without firing unless they are fired on or you change to hostile. Reading the manual and all documentation is a must for this game. Thanks Mike I don't think that solves my problem. To clarify, my problem is this: • I launch fighters and AEW. An unidentified contact is made by the AEW and all fighters turn to investigate. In the Uganda mission example, I can launch two flights of 2x Lightnings each, a flight of 2x Phantoms, and an AEW and as soon as the contact is detected, all fighters (3 flights, 6 airplanes) fly to investigate the contact, instead of only one flight (or a flight of my choice). Shortly thereafter, a second contact appears and then one of the three flights re-direct to intercept it instead, which is good. But I have zero control over this process. If there were 4 contacts, I couldn't choose which 3 flights to sent to investigate which 3 contacts, to my knowledge. Marking them as unfriendly instead of unknown does nothing to help this problem. My suggested solution is giving us a manual "Investigate" command, or for someone to suggest a more labour-intensive way of emulating this. Alternatively, I could tell all of my fighters to ignore all contacts, IF I had the possibility to manually tell them to investigate a contact, which I don't. I can only tell them to attack, I think? If I mark them as unfriendly, the only way I can easily tell them to intercept is still to order an auto-attack. I'm sure it's possible to selectively investigate contacts SOMEHOW, using ROE. But for a basic action, I don't think it should be labour intensive. My first idea was this: Investigate contacts (in ME) OFF Then Unit Order > Attack Options > Engage Manual, but NOT allocating the use of any weapons. Unfortunately, that doesn't work. My second idea was to order a manual engagement, allocating the use of weapons, but with WRA that disallowed the use of any weapons. Unfortunately, this designates the contact as hostile, which at least in theory can have negative side-effects, like other aircrafts attacking the contact. (EDIT: Aaand this also made my fighters attack the target, despite my expressively forbidding the use of any of their weapons in the WRA). Any other ideas? The problem is simple, I think: how to order the air investigation of an air contact without the "AAW Patrol" mission. (Because with it, all investigations are indiscriminate and uncontrollable, other than being able to tell flights to investigate either everything or nothing. Or, naturally, marking all enemy flights except for one as neutral and having only one fighter set to investigate. THIS might work, but only allows like one simulatenous investigation globally)
