What does Furball mean? Is this akin to FUBAR?

As an ex 8th Force airman - a furball - is unexpected air to air combat w/ multiple fights across all altitudes - may the best pilots win

Thanks Foggy, as an avid cat fan, I thought it meant something else.

Klink - FUBAR = F00ked Up Beyond All Recognition. That's what I've been told, I was never in the service

You still can join the MD National Air Guard though :P

Oh, and I was right (naturally!?) as well.

FUBAR is a military acronym for "{f*cked/fouled} up beyond {all/any} {recognition/repair/reason}".

That's not a bad thing - being trained to load and launch as many A-10's as possible - we were going to get get 3 SS-20's as soon as the war would start. We (US troops) tried to help them as much as possible.
