Status: offline 		Is there a place to me in a Bombur mod game? I´ve just surrendered in my game vs. ironduke and TwoTribes, it would be nice to start another.
Armoured Lion, could you tell me more on technical and balance issues? I corrected that coal bug, now all ships use oil, but I would be happy to know about your suggestions to improve the mod.

Timeline:

HO: other thread "Im also not sure what game is it? also armoredlion, id rather pick anything BUT russia so its all yours, i will go for axis minors/italy or if that doesnt exist il go with britain."

AL: other thread "What about two tribes? He was setting up a Boombur mod... Two tribes is this your game or another one... sorry, I'm getting lost."

AL: "Two Tribes has this show... I'm just the guy caught up in confusion. I owe Two Tribes help in whtever game he is running... so let me know the scene before I have to many games on my menu."

TT: "feel free to start the other game no way i can make a bombur game with only the specific countries when i do not even know how many will play."

HO: other thread "how would he take japan and china? 2 opposite/hostile countries..? also I only picked china to fill vacancies and help the game start, i mainly wanted to play an axis country, but since my choice got randomly ignored il drop out of this one. "

AL: other thread "Yeah, no slight to anyone, but Two Tribes seems to be being dismissed, and I owe him a game. So, with one game in my holster left, I'll remove myself as well Falco, as I committed to Two Tribes originally."

AL: "Hey Two Tribes see other thread. This was my post: "Hey, somehow Two Tribes and his game got lost/ mix up in the shuffle. Can Two Tribes take Italy? Or I'll take Italy and he can take USSR?" If you want in on the game, you have two choices of nations."

AL: "I originally committed to you Two Tribes and since I owe you... I'm in for a random game. Can you have say two German nations in a random? OR is USSR, Germany, US, and Brits forcing a 4 player max? Would Japan work? OR is their lack of tanks too much of an issue?"

ID: "If you have a spot any flavour count me in"

TT: "ok how many people want to play a bombur mod game we will set the year to 1940 and will leave out Italy, Japan and France."

AL: "Right now it's you, me, and Iron Duke... any others?"

HO: "Please read the thread you're posting in, I dont make these posts just to spam threads."


I get you were frustrated with the last thread and game setup. But that had zip to do with me. Your last statement wasn't correct, warranted, or necessary. This random game was all but abandoned and everyone was (but TT) was in the 38 game. We were resetting for commitment after we left that 38 game. That's it. I do my best to be a nice guy, cordial, and considerate. My nature is quite the opposite when under attack. I talk straight, expect straight talk in return, and don't do well when I get pot shots for no reason. Stick to this and we'll be peachy... and I'll be a good ally.

Status: offline 		He said 1940. So far it's you, Two Tribes, Hatem, Bombur, Lao, and me. We could go teams and the better nations could lend / lease to weaker nations to compensate? Maybe we can figure out fair combos? Bombur, Iron Duke is better than me in catching issues (he mentioned certain navy planes were getting jacked by subs). As for me, I thought balance for all nations was an issue (Russian tank advantage was brutal early on) and the coal issue... and maybe consideration of fuel expenditures and raw expenditures on bombardments were the only things I noticed. If we do teams, and if Hatem is interested, I'd like to team with him.

Status: offline 		I keep getting Italy as one of the countries instead of Japan right now I have USA Germany Britain Russia France and Italy. on xtra large map that gives us 20 cities. the next lower drops it to 10 cities and I don't see that as viable.

Status: offline 		Do you want to use the (yet not published) v135? It eases the oil shortages and make more difficult to build a sea of fortifications. It also adds 4 new SFT´s: LCI, Gunboat, B-29(Night) and He-11E(Night)

Status: offline 		Yes thanks Bombur thanks that will help with oil shortage a major problem for the last game, and I hope the Patrol Planes have been tweaked fingers crossed. Just my opinion but a reasonably sized map would be more fun than a small map small maps can be fairly unforgiving.

Status: offline 		Armouredlion, i know your intentions are good but why are you combining 2 threads for 2 games started by 2 different people? if the 2 games had started i wouldve joined both, hence why I posted IN both, this is the point I wanted to make in my very last post here, that I usually consider what I post and not post randomly, not a personal attack against you. Simply letting every one speak for himself and let the host of whatever game organize it is really the only way to go, speaking for other people causes confusion, and having to reaffirm my commitment for every passing post that excludes me is not a fun thing to do, no offense to you.

Status: offline 		Falco was the third player to commit to the game... given the other thread, is he still committed or interested? Do any have issues? I don't know. It's not for me to legislate. I do know Two Tribe said this:

"ok how many people want to play a bombur mod game we will set the year to 1940 and will leave out Italy, Japan and France."

Two Tribes, me, Falco, & LAo were the pecking order. You were 5th and Duke 6th. This random mod becomes a balancing act after 4. We now have 6, or 7 if Falco is in... which I hope is the case.

So, given TT was sort of snubbed in the other thread and wasted his time making a scenario for naught, I re-commited out of courtesy, Duke had just committed, so I add him along with me and my "... any others" was meant as a prompt to recommitted because TT stated he didn't know the situation.

I should have worded it better, my failing. But I thought it an innocuous statement.

Status: offline 		Excellent! Bomburs mod is going to get a workout. Two Tribes you deserve a medal of valor... or purple heart. How can we do this with 7... or can we get an 8th. Smarter players than me please chime in. My only thought is if we do teams, maybe one player might run two nations?

Status: offline 		If you know 1938, it's the same, brother. Only difference is if you play an earlier date to start, you might not be used to the equipment and nations progression.

I understand that you are enthusiastic starting another game. But please keep an eye on the games where you are already participating. There are two Triumph games that are running very slow and there are turns for more than ten days at dropbox now.

I dont want to start too many games and therefore want to finish one game before participating in a new one. But I get tired of waiting again and again. Had feeled at home in this community for a long time. But it turns out being frustrating more and more as games are dying due to players that have lost interest or have no idea where they are involved while running too many games at same time.

I have to admit that one reason to buy TOAW IV was that I am looking for some PBEMs that are running faster than the ones I am involved here and of which I can be sure they will be played to the end instead of being givern up due to inactivity of players.

I often send out an email when i put something in the dropbox, so those playing with me know it's their turn. That is really the one thing I don't like about dropbox, that changes can go unnoticed. One of the reasons I did prefer email, but lately some emails simply seem to vanish that are sent to me...

Look, I'm sure you're an awesome guy, but to say the quote below to me 2 weeks ago in defense of yourself and an attack on me, and then say what you are saying now is really laughable. I think you should find a replacement for me, as you obviously have a deep seeded grudge... I'm German too and I, at least form my family, know grudges don't die easy with the Germanic. Hand filling and adjusting, I don't know, a few hundred units and building dozens more and trying to learn the system while setting up strategies and tactics to rebuild the entire soviet army is at least double or triple the amount of work for your turn. I am thoughtful with every unit... that's just how I play. It took you from the 6th to the 12th to finish your turn, and despite your incorrect assumption I wasn't sweating you. You and I aren't here for this, brother. We are here to have fun. I'll finish my turn by tomorrow and then you can replace me. Maybe we can play another game in the future and have a more amicable time in the sun.

There are other games that run slow as well. Four days is far below the average of other games where I am participating.

At GB1938-game27-turn-33 a player took 12 days to play his turn. Turn 34 seems to be continued after 4 days now.

At New Triumph game we are waitung for four days as well. At first Triumph game it is 13 days now and at Third Triump game we are waiting for 17 days already.

So please be patient and be careful before accusing someone here in public."

Status: offline 		His turn around last turn was 4-5 days--6th -12th. I am doing soviets and my turn was posted not the 26th, as he conveniently 'miss typed' , but the 29th at 7PM. So double or triple the work and I went 2 more than him... and I get this?! Please... this is why I like table top games... it puts people in arms length.

Status: offline 		with 6 players on an extra large map it was 20 cities counting capital, it will be less with 7 regimes. on the next smaller map it was 10 cities i do not enjoy real small regimes makes it very hard to fight anybody. but no we are not use the largest setting.
