Weapons, armour and warships are grouped and annotated according to Jane's Naval Wargame rules and lack information like calibre, calibre length etc. The world's navies are listed in alphabetical order and ships are classified as follows:

(I) = First Class Ironclads through (V) = Coast defence ironclads unable to "keep the sea" for any periods or armoured gunboats.

(1) = Heavily armed protected cruisers through (6) = Other ships of "very slight fighting value"

(X) = Rams

(T) = Torpedo depot ships, torpedo catchers, destroyers etc.
