What if the wargame of the German Navy "Schnellbootlage 1970" had been played 10 years later in 1980? Would it be possible to sink the Soviet supply-convoy with missile-boats or even with the updated Zobel-torpedo-boats?

This senario updated the units to 1980 and you can try the game with three different boat-types (selected by random-generator).

With missile boats yes.
With torpedoboats, I still have to try.
Nice scenario.
What if I had a pair of CAP aircraft? Well it would have been easier, but I can do without them. Too bad Starfighters do not have guns.

By the way if I send Starfighter after Su attack aircraft, they will run away (I guess they jettison bombs and that triggers mission RTB due to no more weapons remaining). That happens not always, but still worth trying.

Eventually I won it with torpedo boats, after several attempts on different tactcis.

Not much of my boats remained afloat though.

By the way, I thought if it may be just possible, that you make a series of scenarios in the same setting, like in years 1940 with straight-runners, 1980 with seeeeeeals, and then up to 2030 with rail guns and laser weapons or whatever? or did the shcnelboat technology not improve that much? :) I greatly enjoyed playing this scenario like ten times over until I thought I played over all notable random combinations. I would very much like to see more of the similar with different technology and weapons.

Hi AlexGGGG,
I am glad that you like these littel scenarios.
Well, I think FPB's did not improve that revolutionary since introduction of missiles. Some improved missiles, and much better sensors of course, this was all. Energy production for laser/rail gun weapons does not seem possible on these small boats.
The main problem still would be the clear identification of contacts.
So I believe the biggest improvements in weapon technology from straightrunner to wire-guided torpedo and further on to SSM are represented in the scenario. I thought about transferring the scenario from CWDB to DB3000 so that also type 143A-boats with RAM ship-air missiles can be selected.
