Hi there, While playing scenario 5 "Nightmares" of the Chains of war campaign I noticed that my AGM-158b JASSM missiles have a very eclectic target priority selection when these are used against multi target SAM systems like the SA-5 or SA-2. These JASSM weapons will auto-select a vehicle within a pre-briefed multi target (mt) SAM system and one would assume that the mission planners would heavily prioritize hitting a key radar of these system in order to knock them out. But this is currently not the case. I ran some basic targeting statistics on 22 vehicle SA-5c systems (3 weapons, 15 repetitions) and these weapons do indeed have a small preference of hitting A radar within a mt SAM system, but this chance is only about 21%, not much higher then the 15% radar hit rate one would expect from mere chance. So here we have weapons that can hit a certain pre-briefed window in a building, but which only have about 20% chance of hitting a (most likely) pre-briefed VITAL target in a mt SAM system? I re-ran this test with operator laser-guided Paveway bombs and the chance of hitting an essential radar with a mt SAM system is ALSO only about 20%. These percentages might work in the era of dumb bombs (which have a much higher CEP), but they make no sense what so ever when smart, or optically guided weapons are involved. I can understand that the devs want to build some randomness into the game, but the current hit calculation for smart or optically guided weapons just make no sense. W.
