Fuzzy? I do one better, I don't use a lens! It is most likely bc I prtSc then paste into MS paint; so you can thank the Capitalists at MS. I hear they are in collusion with the Professional Ophthalmologist Associations of the USA; Regional Office address is "725 5th Ave, New York, NY 10022, USA" (google it)!

Try the "snipping tool" in Microsoft. It is a great deal better than the "prntscrn" function which is sooooooo 1980's ;-P.

- So open snipping tool
- click "new"
- square off what you want to capture on the screen
- save to a location you want to save it making sure to save the file as a .jpg file
- post to forum
- easy as that "PRESTO"

***** the only caveat is that you may need to alter the size of the snapshot if you are playing at a high resolution. To alter the size of the picture after you save it in the snipping too you can open the file with "paint" and resize. enjoy

Supply on 2nd turn is fine for Germans even when Surrounded in the 1st turn. The Germans start with a nice stockpile.

Really? Then why were all those Nazis running around harassing the villagers, trying to get those Jerry Cans back? (jeez, kind of anal of them is it?)

Well the SS aren't on the front line but the rumors have it they were rounding up all non Aryan races for something they were calling "re-settlement" and special treatment.

Kind of like a lottery? If you find a German Jerry Can, you win a free trip with some blue eyed, blonde haired Aryan, I suppose! Don't think the babushkas would have liked that, they are quite protective of their womanly virtues! "I no go with Nazi Bastard to Germany! You liking me? you wanting me? You take me vacation in Krim!"

Never heard of snipping tool. I have windows 7 still.

My opponent did not seem to break through in his second turn. I have not been able to cut his supply again, so am expecting a hard hit, since all his armour is right at the front line. Still attempting to utilize the Stalin line where I can in the south.

Central area, the moral of the troops is excellent knowing that Minks still has not fallen. The Comrades in Minsk are sacrificing themselves, to allow the Western Front the time to dig in and prepare themselves for the defense of Smolensk and Grandpa Dnipro!

In addition, everybody is happy to be away from those mosquito infested marshes. We would have given them to the Germans if they had asked, never really wanted them, but they came with the package, what can ya do?

On a final note, it was discussed by the central executive, that if the Germans want Leningrad, and they are crazy enough to try to take it, vee vill gieve it to dhem, dhey can have it; there really isn't anything up there, except a few angry Finns! (Vee have a party up there in vinter of 1940, and they did not like the noise! Have never forgiven us!)

1) My Opponent does not really want to contribute other than taking some screen shots of his turn, to indicate what he sees of the Soviets.
2) Presently I have been editing out anything that would give my opponent an insight into what I am up to; such is very important in the first few turns.
3) Have been rethinking if perhaps it is best for a longer turn delay, thus allowing me to show more of what the situation was when I made my turn, and or comment on what I did and why.
4) Turn 3 took a lot longer, due to the excess reinforcements and factory moves; further needed to re-access what my Opponent was up to and his primary objectives. Also had some personal matters which took me away from completing my turn 3.
5) I am in possession of my Turn 4, but unfortunately have injured my back, and sitting, standing, walking, or lying down, all result in extreme pain, which distracts me from carrying out my turn (hard to plot and connive (knive) the soviet turn, when one is taking pain killers).

Ok, it's not fair to let Lastkkozak try to present an aar in a before the action way, rather than an after the action way, without some perspective from both sides. But first some clarification. We are like-minded that the game is above all meant to be fun and we are not that competitive. Funny thing is, i refused to do the Big Lvov, which i see as unrealistic and only possible because of the game set-up. He actually insisted i replay the turn in the name of play balance. Paratroops are allowed because they were part of history and he can decide how to use them. In that spirit, my side will try to show what a newish player can expect when he makes the leap from the ai to a human opponent. Some may be interested in to see that the germans have, much like in history, have bitten off more than they can chew.

Beginning of turn 4 Already the advance is going wrong. Russians, unlike previous countries, just don't know when their beaten. Instead of running, they get behind my forward units cutting of supply. I have relied too much on regiments and will attempt to regroup and wait for infantry before attacking Pskov.

Start of turn 4 center. Having sent most of the panzers to other fronts, will try to clean up pockets and move up the infantry. Need to find a way to at least maintain some threat here.

Start of turn 4 south. Found out the hard way, that it is easier to make the pocket, than it is to keep it closed. Russians are not running for the Dnepr ...

My reflections on my Turn 3 movement and sacrifice of a few units, gives me insight into the type of player my opponent is. I had hoped that he would drive through the centre, and kill off the forts with the airborne first, then with luck use up more movement points and not have sufficient enough to strike deep, because he also had many regiments that needed to be reformed to be of use! I had no option of sealing the line, but attempted to make it more costly in mps to do what he did. He took the easier root, and encircled my Airborne in the fortified zones. He did not have the opportunity to drive deeper however. So I know he is less likely to be an opponent that drives straight through, but uses the mobility of his motorized units when he can. Such can be beneficial when setting up a defense of a specific place. One cannot encircle Leningrad, but Moscow and Kharkov can be.

There is something to be said for a little bit of aggression in the first few turns as Soviet; one's opponent knows that the Soviet player will take advantage of any opportunity, thus limit their risks, which should result in a German opponent that will be a tad more cautious to prevent any painful mistakes; one mistake can hurt a motorized division; as well as bruise the ego of a player. I have mentioned in other posts, anything to delay the Germans, is of benefit to the Soviets, especially in the beginning.

We are using historical weather, so I am aware how long my opponent has, an advantage for myself, but also for the Germans, as they won't get hit by an early mud/winter and know when to start building trenches for the winter, but won't also have a late winter/mud. Further we are using normal CV, so he really does not know how strong my line is until he is adjacent, forcing his Panzers to commit the mps, and finding out too late that there was an easier route.

I will retreat to Deedo Dnipro (Grandfather Dnipro), when I feel that it is the only other option. Imho, finding a balance between retreating, and forcing the Germans to fight, is important. The more time, the more reinforcements, and a better defensive line one can build! Thus one should always take advantage of any opportunity to keep the German player from seeing the situation as a "Joy Ride to Moscow"! If a German player tries too many hasty attacks, they get a surprise, and any Russian units that can survive an attack, are one step closer to Guard status. If the Germans are forced to make more deliberate attacks, they use up mps, and thus cannot drive as deep per turn. Units that don't become Guard, still get some experience and morale increases.

So here are some insights into what my opponent is up against, he is responding to my play style, as I am responding to his. His behaviour to my turns seems to indicate an opponent cognisant enough to realize that I am not playing in a 'typical' Soviet Player approach!

That said, my opponent has found ways to surprise me, and prevent me from optimally carrying out this, my diabolical strategy.

Well, its up to you, but other than continual harassment from numerous people, I don't tend to let people get to me. Most people on here are intelligent enough to recognize that some people got issues!

I am all for discussions and or debates, people don't need to agree, but they should try to remember, we are all equal in dignity and rights! These are games, and a cordial atmosphere is best for the game, and for the business of selling games.

I am keeping the original screen shots of my front line. I am hoping I can edit the past pics and switch to the originals. Further, I am attempting to drag out posting, so that I and my opponent can get a few turns ahead of posts.
