Argh ! :mad:
I am really going crazy !
Please help me if you can cause I feel frustrated I can't change a class for a unit into OOBs and make it loading its own correct icon...

in other words:

OOB editor: pick a unit an infantry unit and make it class
76- TEAM .. save, purchase the unit and the infantry will become an halftrack in the battlefield

which icon number I should put into icon field instead of zero to make the game load icon for infantry ?

which is the correct default icon for infantry ?
and for inf-AT and for Mortars ???

any help would be reeeeeeallly appreciated !

Umm, well, you can't do what you're trying to do!! Teams are the horse-drawn towing unit, they are meant to have a icon number assigned to them. Infantry, cavalry, inf AT teams, machineguns have the icon association hard-coded into them, they CAN"T be assigned a different icon, nor can you use the infantry icon, since they have no 'number'!! You are getting a halftrack because theat is the first icon in the program, also what the program will default to if no number is given, IOW you can't assign an infantry unit the team class, and have it still look like an infantry unit, you will need to export one of the infantry icon sets(there are 13 for each color, from 1 man to 13), and give it one of the non-turreted icon associations, therefore giving it an 'icon number', so it can be used with that class!! I'm waaay too busy to do this for you, sorry, but it would take a little time:( Hope this helps to explain it.

Don't worry if you have not time ..I will try for my best to get the job on my own...but I need to listen to other experiences and your one is extremely precious since you worked a lot with shp files and graphics...so your words will be scanned one by one (what is does it mean "IOW" ? ) to fin a possible solution.

so you mean that no icon number will play for them ?
I can see that changing icon numbers I can change what is displayed, the problem is that if I put icon 12 a tank is loaded while Chlanda SHPED shows me infantry content for icon file 12...

???

I mean it seems that the OOB editor can impact the display of the unit in the battlefield..but I can't find a correct icon for that unit ...

that is the closest appearance to my problem..looking at the SHP directory and assigning with OOBeditor a different icon number for a 'team' I can see different icons in the battlefield...but didn't find a proper one..I tried at least 50/80 icons then I was broken (and almost sick :D ) so I needed to ask here...

nice ! very nice ! I knew you got a lot of resources !
So: 1) I open an existing shp file
2) I overwrite it with infantry bmp
3) I save it as a shape file
4) rename it
5) in the oobeditor I set that shp for the icon number field
Do You mean it this way ?
May be this a first way to follow ?

I suddenly opened again SHPED but....what is a shape for infantry ?
