I have found that limited ammo only works once. That is, if you upgrade a unit or buy a support unit it has its' ammo load randomly reduced, but that core unit will have full load after that battle. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Do you want limited ammo (where the computer keeps track of ammo and you eventually run out) or reduced ammo (where you start with something more than 50% of you ammo and then eventually run out)? They are different settings on the ammo realism button. The other setting is unlimited ammo (which is for arcade style play). thanks, John.

I thinks he means reduced ammo. With this on, your units have less ammo, but the next battle will shows them with full load. I take this as advantage, since the AI always have less ammo with each new battle, but my units will have full ammo if they survive to the next battle

If this is how 5.01 works then it is a bug. At least since 2.3 or 3.0 reduced ammo worked, where each battle of a campaign you started with less than a full load of ammo. I can speak from experiance there since I ran a WWII campaign all the way from v2.3 to v4.3b. Reduced ammo was something that always worked. Reduced squads didn't work right with in game saves, but that is the only realism setting I don't like to use. thanks, John.

Well, just went through all my saved games and units that survive through a battle will begins the next battle with full loads. Those got destroyed and rebuilt have reduced ammos.

Thanks for the replies. What I meant is that units that survive always have full ammo loads (except the first battle of a campaign)with the realism setting to "reduced ammo on". Units that are destroyed and rebuilt and support units act the way they should with this option on.
