Howdy folks. A UI question here...

When I create a new TF, is there any way to have it set so that it doesn't automatically try to suck fuel from the base I'm creating it from? Where's the toggle I'm missing?

Don't think there is.

You could try creating a 1 ship TF, setting it to do not refuel and then transferring in the rest.

Yes there is. Choose to create a new TF from the port screen. You'll get this screen. Change the Set Refueling Option in the lower right to Do Not Refuel.

I'm amazed that I'm still learning stuff about this game. Thanks, Apbarog.

Cheers,

I believe Loca asked abour default option for Do Not Refuel setting, so that all TFs start with DnR. Just like you can set for Routing control in the same screen.

And no, there is not any default switch, neither for Do Not Refuel, nor for Absolute threat tolerance. I wish they both were in the game.. The first one in particular would make life so much easier for operating IJN with their constant fuel shortages and optimization

I had a submarine run out of fuel deep in enemy territory (the Japanese overran all the planned fueling bases). I still had very small fuel stocks at some of the bases in the Eastern DEI (50 fuel, 100 fuel) so I routed the sub TF to one of these. It would not take on that fuel seemingly no matter what I did (disbanded and recreated the TF, etc). It would seem that "half a loaf" is better than nothing but....

Well, it's not a default switch (like for assigning commanders or whatever)... but at least I can click that switch, so that's something.

I've accidentally set the default routing to Direct in one of my games and don't have any idea how I managed it. I mostly use it anyway, so it's not a big deal... but it's all of my TFs, everywhere, it seems. Anyone know where that switch is?

The option to change your default routing shows up when you click on a routing that isn't your default.

For example, your default is Direct. You're looking at a task force, and its routing is Direct. You don't see an option to change the default. Click one of the other routing options for the task force, like Normal. Now you'll see the option to change your default to Normal.
