Good Game John. I didnt think you would finish it but I was wrong.

Bet a lot of people felt that. I stuck to it for the learning value as well as the slight hope to get in an occasional punch/jab. It is funny to celebrate an I-Boat hitting two AKs while getting clobbered by 5 Gadzillion bombers over the Home Isles but it became that!

Thanks for the AAR, the most important thing I learned was when playing the Japanese, the time to throw everything at the Allies is when they try to take bases within bomber range of Japan, in this case, the Phillippines

John, re-reading some back pages of the AAR. I forget how bad that carrier battle went for you. I remembered as you loosing all your CVE's and one CV but it was a bit more than that. Dan lost a ton of planes. Can't figure out how he was able to recover and mount and offensive that required exclusively on carrier air so soon after. Thanks for sticking out to the end. The upside is you will probably be a much better player now that you know what is needed in 1944 and 1945. When you are in a writing mode I would appreciate to hear you thoughts on how you will prepare for the next "long" game

That was the deciding moment of the war. I so regret that series of turns. Was trying to play THREE Campaigns at once then and wasn't playing a single one of them WELL. Lost all the CVEs, several other carriers were lost as well as some cruisers. All because I didn't pay attention to my fuel. STUPID! Good lessons to remember though. Thanks John.

Hi John,

So I was looking at the point score for Japan. The last figure I saw from you was 79,774 and then in the final it was 79,904, which is a difference of 130 points. I thought that final tally would be more drastic than 130 points as it covers bases and their port size and what not.

thanks for a great read.

You know...I have blanked parts of that fight out. I do believe that you are correct with the strike comment.

Hi John,

I was a sometime commentor on the other side, but kept up to date with your side of story as well, just never commented. As I told CR: "Great match, it was a pleasure watching it unfold over all these years. Now I need to find something else to do over my lunch break. Thanks for a great ride!"

ps - Really glad you didn't knuckle under and take your toys home after the main carrier clash eaarly in the game. (I'm pretty sure you are too.)

Heck ya! I am glad to have played this deep into the game. Learned SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much towards my next game. Really recommend all JFB put themselves through this depressing end-game agony.

I'm here to translate for John, since I'm a word-smith and he's a graduate of Kansas State or some other forsaken institution of education.

When John says, "Really recommend all JFB put themselves through this depressing end-game agony," he actually means, "It is trying in the extreme to endure the just retribution of a fully aroused democratic republic bathed in light, virtue and nobleness. When I heard the melodic stanzas of 'America' it makes me weep for what might have been had my nation-state not fallen into ignoble tyranny and blood-lust. I am ashamed of myself and my people. I sometimes lose control of my bowels when I perceive the righteous retribution visited on the armed forces of my nation and the way my beloved Kansas City Chiefs unfailing underperform in the playoffs. It makes me want to be a Raiders fan. In fact, I am a Raiders fan. I think I'd better stop wearing bro-tanks while exposing my pasty white thighs beneath the limpid light of the winter sun. I think I'll crawl into my man cave and bleet. See you'uns later on."

Well done to both of you, the amount of time you've spent in the game and posting AARs was definitely a mighty endeavor.

A request for both of you...message mirrored to both AARs.

1) Japan - what warships (DD and up) were still afloat at the end?
2) Allies - Can we see some loss reports for Submarines and destroyers?
