I and Gerry (gw14) are both beta testers and we've got two games running. One is on hold, due to a problem with the unlimited breakdown option, but the other one is running quite smoothly. Sure, there are a still some problems around, but things are going quite smoothly at the moment.

Since we are making a lot of gamesaves while playing, why not make a AAR out of it. Gerry plays the Allies, so I've got the hammer in my hand in the first part of this war. And Gerry: don't worry! I will not capitulate. Never, ever, so you're in for the long, long run towards Berlin and Tokyo...

This are the optional rules we are using. Some of these I don't like, but others I do like a lot. It's a compromise...

Unfortunately, I don't have a gamesave from the initial setup, but war starts normally with the totally legal attack of Germany on Poland (they did attack first, didn't they). And they are still occupying land belonging to the fatherland...

At the end of the first turn, which ended at impulse number 17, Axis losses were high (I did roll pretty poor when attacking the Netherlands)...

During that turn, I conquered Poland, Denmark and The Netherlands. Poland and the Netherlands both exacted quite a toll on the German forces (very bad die rolls on high odds attacks don't help).

The CW decided on aiding the Danes...

Of course, Mussolini decided that he wants "Mare Nostrum", so he attacks French North Africa. The CW intervenes...

If you thought that Germany did conquer Belgium this turn, you are wrong. The turn ended, before I could enter Brussels, so that caused an extra US chit drawn for aiding an attacked minor and the Brussels MIL arrived. Well, you can't have everything, can you.

The CW decided to leave Denmark. So at new years eve, which started after impulse number 10, this is the situation in Western Europe:

Convoy losses by Italy made sure that the Italians in French North Africa got stalled. The first admiral of the war was sacked, when he blamed Il Duce for not having accumulated enough oil...

During this winter, which lasted until impulse number 19, the phoney war started in Europe, as one can see here at the start of the March-april turn:

However, the CW decided to conquer Tunisia. Politicians in Paris were insulted when Tunesia wasn't returned back under French rule. Churchill made it clear: there were British and Canadian lives lost there, so the British Empire has the right to occupy this country:

During March-april, only three impulses were played. Blizzard, storms, snow and rain caused no losses and with only one Axis impulse during this turn, this was the situation in Europe at the start of may-june:

Labor Day in Belgium. Spies are reporting that munition trains and fuel have been transported in abundance to the German troops in the frontlines (offensive chit spend on Guderian). Than Stuka's dive out of the skies on the headquarters of the French commanders. French fighters scramble and take a heavy roll on the German Luftwaffe's fighters. But the Stuka's got through. Not only on the generals, but also on the frontlines. Moments after the planes have left the area, artillery opens up. The Panzer and supporting heavy infantry threathen to totally break the frontlines. French losses are high, very high in the first impulse of this turn:

Even after retreating out of Belgium, the French frontlines are severly compromised and the Panzer breakthrough in the next Axis impulse:
