Watching the snow fall, again.

Our 4th Noreaster, and perhaps our 15th snow storm of the winter...normally we might have 3-4.

We lost power for several days before, in fact whole towns lost it...I found out even with a generator our cable internet service wouldn't work.

Power outages years back would generally cause the cellular phone system to crash too from overuse...but this time it held up very well.

We shall see what happens...

He was lucky to not be sacked after the Paoli massacre.

Hey, we got a lot of Italians now, he's crazy Tony. You know, Cristoforo Colombo discovered America in a fourteen and a ninety two but the rest of us didn't come over for 400 years.

Not bad so far in downtown Manhattan, maybe 2" of slush on the sidewalks and the main streets are in pretty good shape.

Glad you're getting moisture.

We've had 1.10" since Oct 3rd, 2017. It's pretty rough here like it was in 2011 and 2012 when we had 8" of rain in one year. Haven't had a snowfall cover south of I70 for 2+ winters.

I'd kill for a serious snow storm. In Colorado it has SUCKED this winter. We've gotten 4-5 storms of 3-5" with nothing bigger here. STUPID! Would love a good 12-16" storm. Just enough to really get people's attention.

The snowline got down to maybe 200-300 ft above where I live now just yesterday. Frankly I don't miss shoveling it off the roof as I've done for the last 16 years in Vermont. It can stay in the mountains permanently so far as I'm concerned.

I probably got 14 inches of snow, but no power outage, and now the snow remains only in the shadows and in snowplowed piles.

How odd. It's not snowing in Galveston County at all. Wonder what's going on?

Nor here in San Antonio, mate. Unlike December 2017.

John -

How are the wildfires out in the great state of CO? I am hearing the Spring Creek fire could be one of the biggest in the history of the state. That's not something to be too thrilled about.

13 fires so far. 4 of them, including Spring Creek, started by morons without their keepers

that's what it sounds like. That's really disappointing to hear. Anytime we're at the farm, I am so paranoid it won't be there the next morning after we camp and have a fire. I go down and check it daily for a week after we've been there. It has just been so dry/hot/windy lately. We had a wet May/early June. It's been upper 90s and no rain since, though.

Hope all is well.

That's hurricane Chris:
https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

It looks like it will go out into the Atlantic and not hit land until it's weakened quite a bit.

Yeah, not affecting Long Island too much. Friend said the bay had a bit of chop. Some waves, rip current, no rain. Think its too far offshore. True nor'easters usually hug the coast. May be a bit of a problem for areas of Canada.

Just another Atlantic hurricane moving out to sea. Not much to get excited about. It happens quite often.

One of the reasons I chose to retire in Minnesota (from the Navy) - we DO get blizzards, and the occasional tornado, but a lot of other weather we do NOT get.
