I don't know why, but the installer shuts down in the middle of installing. Very frustrating.

Win 10, 64 Bit. I installed the newest JAVA Version, but well if not all files are installed it doesn't help.

It seems it is shutting down while creating the uninstall executable. From the installing screen after roughly 10% it shuts down.

edit: Okay, could install it on the Laptop - with which I don't play. Copied the files to my desktop and couldn't play because - you've guessed it - the missing serial number on the desktop. I give up now.

check the AV log file and see if that interfered with the install.

install as admin, on a full admin account with full permissions, and user account may or may not work.

there is a pause in the install, if an older version of Java is on the pc, as it takes time to uninstall that, then reinstall the newer version and set it up, before the installer carries on.

Thank you very much. Setting the virus scanner on pause did the trick.

I am happy now. :)

Same for me with Windows 10 64, Norton 360 Premier, would not permit download, or installation, even when I clicked to accept the download and restore the quarantined file.

Went to Norton Advanced settings and switched off 'Auto-Protect' and all worked OK,

thanks for the update, it's common for some AV definition files to stop certain files on the pc, for me, i always install as admin, and either add the exe to the safe or white list or turn off while installing, adding the file keeps the pc safe, where as turning off doesn't, so that's the better advice

I did also try to run the install as administrator and note that turning off the AV is not the safest solution, but I tried all the safe options, restore file, override the quarantine, but the system still had the last laugh by telling me the installation file was corrupted. Human rules with switch OFF, eat my dust microchip.

Specifically, the file being flagged (by Avast anyway) is irsetup.exe

(I'm from the Grogheads forum, so I'll be passing this information along there.)

good AV and game friendly ones don't, others are either fussy or just plain bad, Avast falls in to this one, just plain bad for games i'm sorry to say.
