This scenario is general re-balance to make game little more entertaining base on my experience in my few PBEM games.


(It is still beta version - tested only to 7/44 )

List of changes:

-fighters are reworked to provide more historical performance. for example Hellcat/Corsair can make stand against to N1K/J2M even bellow 20K alt now, on other hand Ki-61/100 are much better fighters.

- Soviet air-frames are not done yet. ;(

-there is no more factory upgrade form K-61 to K-100( now it is really end of war frame)

-a new engine Mitsubishi Ha-112 is required for Ki-100 (1/45)

-A7M production is moved to 12/45 but it is better fighter now.

-Frank A factory can be upgraded to Frank B now and Frank R next.

-N1K, J2M, A7M and Frank availability date is postponed.

-Mary and Ann are now dive bombers.

-All P-40 P-39, P-51, P-47 are improved little bit.

-Huge boost to all P-38, now it this plane shine like it should.

-Small bombs chance to hit target is increased little bit.

-All air-frames got boost to durability. 2E and 4E are the biggest winners here. Generally now a bad raid does not turn automatically into slaughter.

-Reduced ability for infantry to kill tanks, and boost to IJA infantry. Now allied player need brigs some superior numbers and firepower to roll IJA defenses. Only Russian and USA squads are stronger but only by 10-30% not 50-100% like it was in original version of scenario.

-Increased supplies generation for Chinese by 100 per day. Plus starting supplies amount is increased by 250K.

-ASW is reduced on both sites. So subs are still dangerous weapon even during late period. ( However I need still need put more work into this )

-Pilots training programs reworked. Less pilots, high quality output. Japanese player need really be careful to not run out of crews. TRATCOM is now really helpful tool right now.

And this all I can remember right now;(

Why? The Ha-112 is the Army designation of the engine known as Ha-33 in the unified IJA/IJN designation code system - and the Ha-33 was in production at start of the war.

The Ki-100 was "born" by mating Ki-61 airframes waiting in vain for Kawasaki Ha-60 engines (because the engine factory had been bombed-out) with the readily available Ha-33.

I know, I know ... But I did it to make K-100 less easy to obtain by massive research in mid war. Modifications in this mod are to improve game-play not be 100% historical accurate.

Ok, I understand.

Btw, I would recommend to remove the Rufe > A6M5 shortcut as well. The Rufe was based on the A6M2 Model 11, the very first production model. I really don't see why it should upgrade to the A6M5.

It is already done. One of many changes I have forgot to mention. I will update list tonight. Generally I did not mention that I have increased USA planes production, P-40 and P-36 starting pool was increased. Scenario flag "Use Respown" is ON. etc ...

Given the title this is a for a scenario 1 style game....it sounds like it might be very tough for Japan.

I like your changes.

I would like to see potential base building in Burma area reduced. Chungking should be exempt from stacking limits or it's stacking limit greatly increased....might not be a problem with the other China buffs you have added.

Very helpfull for Empire but which variant is more historical, this one from stock and other mods (where Japanese infantry is much worse than many others) or yours?

In stock and in most mods soviets air-frames are strongly overestimated. Probably they have "paper characteristics". Meanwhile, they were usually very poorly made. I read that real soviets air-frames characteristic were 10-20% worse than paper.

I strongly recomended strengthening China. The best way is create many dotbase zones where chinese can be hidden and IJA must find some Garrison to occupy them like in LST mod and also strengthening of several central corps like in Big B Mod.
Also LST industry changes look interesting.

China - I added increased replacement rate for the non-Chinese infantry devices by 50 to 100% in the four mods that I assisted John 3rd on. With the added supply they should be able to fill out their TO&E better.
