That point was debated long and hard, Steel. It was finally decided that it would be left in for a number of reasons. I can see pros and cons for both points of view...Wild Bill

Actually we tried to switch it form "if you get seen" to "you see the enemy" but that didn't work very well. You can't togle the EFFEECTs of the asterisk off, but you can "make it go away" by hittin "shift-8". You will still lose MPS when the enemy spots you "the hills hae eyes" effect...and on some machines at high speed you can see about where the enemies spotting checks start being made, but the * itself will not appear next to your units. This is noted on page 19 of the manual. Acrobat has a good "find" icon (the little binoculars) that let you quikly find a word like "asterisk" ;) [ June 06, 2001: Message edited by: Paul Vebber ]

You'll see only blank line where you'd see casualty report in other versions (except in Enhanced versions and old H2H).

Enhanced versions HTH offboard artillery kills are hidden if understanding correct ?

Correct. Only possibility to see them is that if some of your units see the enemy unit taking casualties. Then there will appear that normal pop-up window stating "1(3) Casualty" or something like that.
