Hi all, I had a great time posting our three AARs between my friend and myself. Our third (this) AAR has been very sporadic because my friend fell very ill. But he never quit playing this game during his illness because he just loved it. Drove his wife crazy. But he told me he forgot about the pain playing it. For awhile. Unfortunately, his body finally quit him. Some time ago. I am just now able to talk about it. He's gone. Our two earlier AARs are, apparently, past their due date, and are not posted in this forum. Maybe you can do a search - I don't know. I am sending this only because he asked me to. I did not want to. But out of respect for him. This may sound silly, but I have always found wargamers not just a unique group, but honorable in our own way. This comes from, literally, 50+ years of experience. From playing at Avalon Hill at Hartford Street, Baltimore, to SPI in downtown Manhattan, with potholes the size of moon craters where, no kidding, a cabbie that was screaming at me (I was not used to driving in the city) disappeared into one while shaking his fist at me. He was an honorable man, and he asked me to send you his adieus. Adieu.
