He's on a roll!

Hopefully he'll try working on the Midway carriers at some point.... if anything the depth might slow him down a bit.

Hoping for more pictures - something ghostly about seeing major parts of the ship sitting on the bottom like a monument.

Not too sure about the writeup on the Battle of Cape Esperance. Other accounts I have read say CA San Francisco hit DD Fubuki in the magazine and she blew up. I am not sure Helena even fired on Fubuki.
Helena did hit CA Furutaka pretty hard but so did other ships in the US TF. At this stage in the war it was common for all ships to fire at the closest or most visible target in night battles because radar was not good enough (and the captains/crews not experienced enough) for allocation of targets among the firing vessels.

Agree about Helena's score at Cape Esperance being in need of a rounding down. Most sources have her contributing heavily to the danage done to Furutaka but put that kill down as a team effort. Helena's own records indicate she plastered a "Kako Class cruiser" for around 10 minutes in a position that broadly matches the Japanese account of Furutaka's movements but that was about two hours before the Japanese cruiser finally sank after taking further damage from the US task force. It was also during that time when Helena was engaging the "Kako Class cruiser" that the Fubuki met her end while under fire from the nearby USS San Francisco. So it's unlikely the Helena was solely or primarily responsible for the loss of any Janapanese warships that night.

I'm amazed they can deduce anything accurate about these battles. The confusion must
have been on epic levels
