Not sure if this is ok...

I launched a P-8A (#4427) with Maritime Surveillance loadout from NAS Sigonella to patrol the Syrian coast. About 170 NM downrange from Sigonella to the east, the Poseidon had climbed through merely 18000 feet, 40 minutes into the flight. This equals a constant climb rate of 450 ft per minute. While such a low climb rate might be reasonable for adjusting higher altitudes, it seems way off to need 40 minutes to reach 18000 ft. Is this intended?

If this continues, I have to send the MPA into a holding until mission altitude is reached, before putting it back onto a track inbound the mission area...

I tried the same with a C-5 Galaxy, after 70 NM it had achieved merely 8500 ft.
The E-3A Sentry also shows this ridiculous performance.

F/A-18 Hornets for example are not affected.
So there is something wrong I guess, with larger aircraft.

Abstracted it may seem correct to have bigger aircraft climb with "some lower" average climb rates. Yet this is causing real problems when hostile zones are nearby or when you don't intend to climb them very high at all.

I'd expect all these aircraft thrusting into the sky with at least 1500 ft/min and on average with 2500 ft/min during the first few thousand feet of altitude.

Maintaining 450 ft/min for an hour to reach 27000 ft after 280 NM is nonsense.
