The Red House
Behind the Barrikady, Stalingrad, USSR 1942-12-05.
The German 6th Army had been surrounded for almost two weeks. Still, it in turn had trapped the Soviet 138th Rifle Division in
a pie-shaped piece of land behind the Barrikady. The 138th launched nightly forays against the eastern edge of der Kessel,
hoping to keep the Germans occupied as the Soviet ring of steel tightened around the city. Once again, the "Red House" ( aka
"The Commissar's House") was the scene of bitter struggle. . .

The Generalissimo's Own
Lanfeng, Henan Province, China 1938-05-26.
The Battle of Lanfeng was part of the larger campaign for Northern and Eastern Henan (February 7 – June 10, 1938) and was
occurring at the same time as the Battle of Xuzhou (Late December – Early June 1938).
It involved a counterattack at Lanfeng by elements of the 1st War Area on the 14th Division, the vanguard of the Japanese First
Army of its North China Area Army numbering 20,000 men and tanks. It was the first action of the Chinese 200th Division, the

SOWCHOS(79) II
Southern RUSSIA, December 8, 1942: Following the encirclement of Sixth Army at Stalingrad, Germans launched a relief effort
from their bridgehead at Nizhna Chirskaya, 25 miles from the nearest troops of Sixth Army at Marinowka. The Chir River was to
provide the left flank for the operation, and consequently had to be held. Attempting to foil the German relief effort, the
Russian Fifth Tank Army attacked across the Chir and forced its way past the left flank of the defending 336th Infantry
Division, and on to Sowchos 79, a collective farm deep in the German rear. General Balck's 11th "Ghost" Panzer Division, just
arriving in the area from Rostov to take part in the relief of Stalingrad, was detoured to attack Sowchos 79 and restore the
situation.

Every man in the 117th Regiment of 30th Division received two days training in "assault" weapons and tactics in the preceding

Probably, they saw this one:

It was released on November 21st, 1941 in the US, so it could have arrived in Germany before Dec. 11th.

This is the situation at the end of turn #3: 5 VP hexes out of 6 are in US control, the 2 PaK 40 have already been neutralised and only a few scattered Germans remain. They were wiped out to the last counter in turns 4 & 5. In my opinion, this is a not very exciting scenario .

[SPOILER]

The Germans may inflict some casualties at the start of the first turn, but then the US infantry can deal with the AT guns and the US tanks with the German infantry, which has very few (1) LATW.

the north and south had been occupying the American command. These few units committed to the frontal assault on Aachen had

Fire Teams
Aachen, Germany, 10/13/1944:
American forces launched an attack on 8 October in order to surround Aachen. The 246th Volksgrenadier Division was tasked to
defend the city, but was continually stripped of its strength to counter American attacks to the north. Kampfgruppen were
returned to the division nearly depleted, and some Fortress and Luftwaffe units were sent to bolster its strength. On 10
October three American soldiers entered the city with a white flag and gave a surrender ultimatum. Meanwhile, elements of the
1st Infantry Division had encircled the city to the east and prepared to attack westward. The surrender ultimatum was rejected
based on Hitler’s "Last Stand" order to defend the city. On 11 October over 300 planes began bombing the city, and twelve
battalions of artillery joined in. Overall this did little to the defenders, but turned much of the city into a pile of rubble.
The ground attack began on 13 October. 2-26th Infantry organized itself into teams where each company had several two-man teams
with flamethrowers and DCs, and were supported by tanks and TDs. They had to fight their way through the wrecked city as the
Germans used sewer and tunnels to come up behind the advancing soldiers and conduct local counterattacks.

Wise's War
Aachen, Germany, 10/13/1944:
A 1944 city fight of Americans vs. Germans. The Germans have some infantry and are supported by three 20L AA Guns. Furthermore,
they get three Fortified Building Locations. The Americans Get infantry (1/3 of them Elite) equipped with extra 2 FTs and DCs.
Three M10s provide armored support. What is remarkable in this sceanrio is the large German setup area paired with the US VC.
The Germans can set up in roughly 2/3s of two boards. The US wins immediately when there is no GO German MMC (excluding crews)
within the German setup area. The point is, that many of the almost exclusively Stone Buildings have one or two levels, often
with multiple staircases. Then, there are many Row Houses. So the first thought when I looked at it as the US was: How will I
ever clear all those buildings?! On the other hand, the German needs to make tough decisions as well: He dictate the course of
the game by selecting one of three paths in his setup. He can spread out forcing the US to divide forces and to root out small
forces one by one out of large buildings which will cost a lot of time. However, he will be outgunned everywhere. Or he can try
to build a "castle" and fortify himself there trying to hang on there after delaying the US approach. The third way would be
something in the middle. In our game the Germans tried the "castle" approach. He skillfully managed to pull back basically
every unit before I could pin it down and squash it. However, what helped me a lot that I was able to transport some infantry
forward very quickly as riders into one of his flanks. That way, I managed to close in to the castle faster than anticipated.
The TDs continued into the rear of the "castle" to deny safe rout-havens. If that had not worked out, then my opponent's
defence would have been tough to crack in time. This way, he conceded during US turn 4 for an American win. It will be
interesting to read other AARs on this scenario in the future to see what path the German defender will choose in their games.
The scenario probably has high replayability value. I suppose it is more fun to play as the US because that is the side that
will do the maneuvering while the Germans have limited possiblities to react. Possibly, I might be different, if the Germans
decide to play the cat&mouse approach.

KGP1 Shadows of Death GE[RMAN Human Player]
STOUMONT, Belgium, 20-21 December 1944 (Night)

Having halted the Kampfgruppe Peiper, those first elements of the 1st SS Panzerdivision 'Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler' near Stoumont,
the 119th Infantry Regiment belonging to the 30th 'Old Hickory' Infantry Division (elite) and the 740th Tank Battalion both
forming the 'Task Force Harrison' have managed to capture the St Edouard sanatorium on twilight time.
This large brick made building was dominating the slopes of the north western approaches of Stoumont close to the Nationale 33,
just like a fortress covered by only one recent, but hastily German laid antipersonel minefield.
Around midnight, enjoying a moonless night & cover by a very thick mist coming up from the nearby Amblève river,
the Germans counter attack! Accompanied by mighty Panther tanks, about a hundred shouting SS troops suddenly burst out of
darkness, furiously charging toward the hospital...

that of not crossing the five (5) contiguous hexes marked with a (X) yellow cross. All are located near the sanatorium to form
a single continuous "minefield". Americans and tanks on both sides are unaffected. We will admit that they are well protected by
their armor, or that the GIs have had time to recognize / clear passages!

Jackson's Fire
Puffendorf, Germany 1944-11-17: Since the fall of Aachen on 21 October, the U.S 1st Army had attempted to reinforce its
bridgehead in German territory. Before them was the Roer River with several dams which the Germans could use to flood the plain
and stymie the advance toward the Rhine. At the beginning of November, the 28th Infantry Division captured several cities and
arrived in view of the dams. But the division was counterattacked briskly by the 116th Panzer Division. At the same time, to
the north of Aachen, the 2nd Armored Division progressed without too many difficulties in spite of the muddy terrain, until it
reached Puffendorf. The following morning, the 1st and 2nd Armored Battalions of the 67th Armored Regiment continued their
advance in the direction of Gereonsweiler. Shortly after dawn, the U.S column in hilly land was attacked by a kampfgruppe which
held the heights. Enemy artillery fire pinned down the infantry and an armored struggle ensued. The Shermans were no match
against the Panthers and Tigers. The U.S. commander called for reinforcement of tank destroyers from the 702nd Tank Destroyer
Battalion.

Knock'em All Down
Aachen, Germany, 10/12/1944:
The Battle of Aachen was a major combat action of World War II, fought by American and German forces in and around Aachen,
Germany, between 12 September–21 October 1944. The city had been incorporated into the Siegfried Line, the main defensive
network on Germany's western border; the Allies had hoped to capture it quickly and advance into the industrialized Ruhr Basin.
Although most of Aachen's civilian population was evacuated before the battle began, much of the city was destroyed and both
sides suffered heavy losses. It was one of the largest urban battles fought by U.S. forces in World War II, and the first city
on German soil to be captured by the Allies. The battle ended with a German surrender, but their tenacious defense
significantly disrupted Allied plans for the advance into Germany.

American -->[ German

Best played on American SIDE first / with LOS: 6 Hexes / with RULE: On German Side push quick setup for better challenge / with
MOD: Yours / etc.

Scenario Length: 14 Game Turns
Victory objective: The side with the required Victory Points is the winner. Both sides gets VPs for owning VP Objectives.

Well my first scenario.I usually play hotseat both sides.
This scenario had been playtested with both AI's.
Relatevily easy for both.
Not a historical battle ,but one battle that could have happened.
Any thoughts are welcomed.

South of Liege
Belgium 15 September 1944.
The Canadian forces hold a village south of Liege.
Suddenly at 08:25 in the morning the bells of the village's church start ringing.
The Germans are trying to recapture the village.
As the Canadian player you must not let the German player capture the church, the city hall
and the top of the hill. Also you must not let the German player get in the village.
