Shikuka: These enemy BBs don't have escorts and are showing smoke and fires.

Shikuka: Lonely enemy BBs are low on ammo. Will my LBA get a crack at them in the morning?

Shikuka: The enemy BBs continue to press forward. This is only the second enemy altercation against merchant ships pressed into emergency defensive service tonight. My combat TFs (of all kinds) have fought hard to keep the wolves from the sheep.

Shikuka: More good shepherds throw themselves at the wolves.

My ASW forces will be badly depleted after this night's fighting.

Shikuka: Will there be any PT TFs left to fight after this turn? Will there be anything left?

Shikuka: PT TF takes care of one enemy DD (that's five so far, I think).

Shikuka: Looks like confirmation of a 6th IJN DD sunk.

Shikuka: Two hits.

So, Yamashiro and Fuso are both damaged fairly heavily.

I think that may be it for the nighttime phase.

The daytime phase is pretty active. I may end up summarizing or cutting things short. This is taking two lifetimes. Let's see.

Shikuka: Both sides are gassed at this point. I hope this DD TF survives the day and remains at Shikuka to replenish. It might be all I have left.

Shikuka: One AMC confirmed sunk; one HF/HD.

Good to see this Fletcher TF still fighting and still floating.

Shikuka: Allied LBA elect to go after KB as opposed to the enemy BB/CA stuff. Enemy CAP is stout but not uber. I have a lot (ALOT) of fighters and 1EB at Shikuka. Do they get savaged? Do they get through?

Escorting fighters seem like mincemeat in AE. Or is it the way I handle them?

Shikuka: Funny, the ship interactions were accurate - no sync bug. But I think there is some sync issues with the air attacks on KB. So I'm going to summarize.

There are many strikes going in. Escorts and strike planes get savaged but gradually wear down the Zero CAP. My losses are very heavy.

The first strike to score is some unescorted Helldivers that find that tough CL TF without CAP (I would've like more of these!).

This is the second CL sunk in two days, and makes about 9 in the past month.

Shikuka: Brutal losses. Marianas Turkey Shoot in reverse. I don't look forward to looking at the Air Loss totals when I open the turn.

Shikuka: I'm not showing all the packages. They all look pretty much like these.

My thoughts at this point:

1. I'm glad I only committed about 1/3rd of my carrier air (the rest being LBA).
2. Will enough survive to fill each flattop fully?

Shikuka: The enemy CAP is finally tuckered out, making me think, "Darn, I should have committed more, after all!"
