A nice bombardment, and then the subsequent price to be paid.

What kind of torpedo belt armor penetration is that?? A tub with water cracked in the ships cook room?

Just an example of "belt armor penetration" on a torpedo hit not actually meaning much .

Computer problems and I didn't take a picture, but Allied tanks race forward to threaten a weakly held Phnom, which is getting troops flown in....with 8K Allied troops following up. Imperial Guards are loading into trains in northern Thailand.

Sweeps fly, but only find one group of Allied fighters to decent results.

Lots of sweeps, Allies land a couple of hundred troops on another empty base, shielded by 104 fighters 47 bombers (deathstar seems to have split with the other half heading south to Singers).

Lots of throwaway Allied troops leading this invasion...

Good use of completely expendable troops.

Do you reckon you can wrestle air supremacy from him any time soon?

Saigon

Naval action before the obligatory shore bombardment...another poor performance by the IJN. I am sure the mines and CD guns will be worthless.

A large transport convoy leaves Cam Ranh Bay (and was spotted yesterday, and the day before) and manages to head northeast...while a heavy unspotted SAG shows up in harbor.

Surprise.

Daytime, did these battlewagons slow down to refuel, get cold feet about bombarding Cam Ranh Bay.

Perhaps something good might happen today...

Up to a whopping 83 AV at Phnom...

Soc Trang falls to 300 soldiers...but I guess they activate some militia.

Those surface fights generally went your way. Moderate IJN victory in my opinion. But too little, too late. It's infuriating that the KB missed a golden opportunity on those Allied fleets outside of Cam Ranh Bay.

Was if weather or strong CAP which caused the failure to launch?

I am at a conference and just haven't had time to finish the turn, and I did manage to do some of the turn...Allies moving forward in Burma near Lashio for example, but hjaven't looked at Saigon area other than to look at the damage to the battleships (all sys, and highest one about 28 some with none).

Japan is in such a world of hurt because the Allies have soo many units from my inability to destroy anything.

I do think the invasion force was aimed at Quinhon and not Cam Ranh Bay (unlike somebody else's coupe de main).
