Hi guys,
your help and expertise needed;
Two issues:
A) I download and unzip UpdatePack B998.9
Still when I launch, I see the previous? Any idea what might be the issue?
B) I try to run Chasing Aphrodite and get the following messages (which I suspect are related to the above):
ERROR! The scenario file is probably corrupted, could not determine which database to use
and then I get:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object

P.S.
And yes, I go mad when thinking that this is a scenario that I worked with Dimitri and I cannot see in action!!

When you say ‘the previous’ are you referring to the previous game version or something else?

Well, it sounds like the update did not get properly installed. Is it possible you have more than one installation of C:MANO on your computer, or that possibly virus protection software prevented the update from completing?

@apache85 By previous I meant the Build 998.8 on the top far left corner of the game seen initially
@ultradave I did get a block msg from my antivirus (avast), created a rule and continued with the installation.
Should I unistall the whole game and re-install ? Is there an easier and less brutal approach?
And no, I have only one installation of c:mano (at least that I know of!

P.S. Thanks in advance for your help !

My recommendation would be, reattempt the update installation without totally reinstalling and hopefully you won't see the av alert this time. Sounds like you added the rule but it blocked it on the first try. From what you describe, it sounds like everything except the exe file got installed, but you're running the old version of the command.exe file.

If that doesn't work try reinstalling the whole game and applying updates. But I suspect the only file or files missing would be the exe and maybe dlls (since that's the executable code the antivirus tries to prevent from being updated.)

^^^ That's what it sounds like to me as well. The easiest way (rather than the rule) would be to temporarily turn off your anti-virus software just long enough to do the installation. From the sound of it, re-doing the installation *Should* work without the pain of having to reinstall everything.

Yep, I also agree that it would probably be easier to temporary disable the virus detection rather than take a chance on it silently blocking a file create/write (which it sounds like it might be doing even though you added a "permit" rule).
